  • Patent number: 4655668
Abstract: A projectile storage rack includes a gang locking mechanism for simultaneously locking and unlocking a number of projectiles disposed within corresponding cylindrical projectile storage tubes. Each projectile storage tube has a corresponding clamping surface for clamping a projectile within that storage tube. A number of locking bars are pivotable mounted upon the storage tubes and provide support for the clamping surfaces. Right and left pivotable handles are used for causing the locking bars to pivot, thereby moving the clamping surfaces between a clamping position in which they hold projectiles within the tube and a nonclamping position in which projectile may be easily removed from the storage tubes.

  • Patent number: 4344528
Abstract: A locking assembly is disclosed for securely holding a projectile within a cylindrical tube. The locking assembly is attached to and associated on an one-to-one basis with a particular cylindrical tube. The locking assembly includes a control rod extending parallel to the center line of the tube. The control rod rotates from an unlocked position to a locked position. In the locked position the control rod will cause a cam to move a shoe into frictionally engagement with a projectile placed in the tube. Also disclosed is a configuration for a plurality of such projectile storage cylindrical tubes and associated locking assemblies wherein the use of available space is optimized.
