    Abstract: Disclosed are methods and compositions for reducing E. coli O157:H7 colonization and shedding in ruminant animals. In certain aspects, methods are provided comprising delivering microencapsulated probiotic bacteria to the gastrointestinal tract of a ruminant animal.
