Publication number: 20240344393Abstract: Ladder table systems can provide a table assembly for supporting objects and supplies on a ladder. The platform of the table can rotate between deployed and folded positions and can be supported or retained in either position. The table assembly may be removable from the rails of the ladder or attached to the rear side of a ladder not originally intended for operation with the table assembly. In a folded condition, the platform of the table assembly may substantially fill a volumetric space between a pair of rails and a pair of braces extending between the rails. The platform can also accommodate convenient carrying of the ladder system via hand-sized cutouts that permit a user to grasp a handle portion at or aligned with the center of gravity of the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2024Publication date: October 17, 2024Inventors: N. Ryan Moss, B. Scott Maxfield, Travis Mittanck

Publication number: 20240183222Abstract: Ladder configurations and components are provided including a first assembly of rails and a second assembly of rails that are pivotable relative to each other between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. A handle coupled to a rail extends inward from the rail and has an inner end resiliently deflectable between a clearance position and a weight bearing position that engages another rail as the ladder is carried by the handle. A spreader mechanism includes a platform extending between jointed linkages and that extends the top surface of a rung coupled to two of the rails. An inner end of the platform may be used as a handle to expand or collapse the ladder. The platform may be extruded and assembled with the rung in a manner limiting pinching or gaps at an interface between the platform and the rung.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2023Publication date: June 6, 2024Inventors: Travis Mittanck, N. Ryan Moss, Tallon C. Beckstrom, B. Scott Maxfield

Publication number: 20240183220Abstract: Ladder configurations and components are provided including a first assembly of rails and a second assembly of rails that are pivotable relative to each other between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. A tray rotatably connected to a top cap of the ladder may include a convertible compartment, a pair of clamps, attachment points, and a ferromagnetic component. The tray may be rotatable relative to the top cap by operation of an adjustment member that locks or unlocks the tray. Rotation of the tray may position the tray in an upright position substantially parallel to the first assembly of rails and in a storage position substantially parallel to and behind the first assembly of rails.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2023Publication date: June 6, 2024Inventors: Steven S. Miner, Travis Mittanck, N. Ryan Moss, B. Scott Maxfield, Tallon C. Beckstrom

Patent number: 12000211Abstract: Embodiments of ladders and adjustable trays are provided herein. In accordance with one embodiment, a ladder includes a first pair of spaced apart rails having one or more rungs extending between and coupled with the first pair of spaced apart rails. A top cap is coupled with the first pair of spaced apart rails. A second pair of spaced apart rails is coupled with the first pair of rails via a pair of hinges. A tray is hingedly coupled with the top cap and selectively positioned between a first deployed position and a stored position, wherein when the tray is in the stored position the tray extends downwards from the top cap towards the pair of hinges.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2020Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: LITTLE GIANT LADDER SYSTEMS, LLCInventors: Travis Mittanck, B. Scott Maxfield, N. Ryan Moss, Steven S. Miner

Publication number: 20240044206Abstract: Ladders have first and second assemblies with pairs of rails that form a pair of hinges rotatable about a pivot axis. The hinges include at least one retainer movable between axial positions along the pivot axis. The at least one retainer includes a body and a support arm coupled with the body. The arm can be pivotable relative to the body between a deployed position and a collapsed position. The support arm can support objects while a user is in an elevated position on the ladder.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2023Publication date: February 8, 2024Inventors: B. Scott Maxfield, N. Ryan Moss, Steven S. Miner

Publication number: 20230313612Abstract: Platform systems can support a user at an elevated position while being drivable or mobile via wheels and a drive system. Rail assemblies can be folded or collapsed so that the platform system can be carried by a user from one location to another. Hand controls are operable by the user from the elevated position to move the platform systems across a ground surface and can have automatic braking capability. Each side of the platform system can be independently driven, thereby allowing zero point turning and other fine control maneuvers. Structures at the base of the platform system can limit or prevent tipping or tilting. A cage system can help keep a user on the platform(s). Platforms can be collapsed or stowed with the rest of the platform system.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2023Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Aaron Bruce Major, Brian B. Russell, N. Publication number: 20220381087Abstract: Various embodiments of ladders, ladder legs, ladder feet, foot mechanisms for ladders, and related methods are provided herein. In one embodiment, a foot is pivotal relative to a leg or rail of the ladder between a first position and at least a second position. A biasing force is applied to the foot to maintain the foot in either of the user-selected positions until a force is applied to pivot the foot to another position. In one embodiment, the foot mechanism maintaining the foot at a desired position may include a pair of pins that couple the foot to another component (e.g., a housing member, an insert member or a rail of the ladder). At least one of the two pins may be displaceable relative to the other pin during pivoting of the foot.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2022Publication date: December 1, 2022Applicant: LITTLE GIANT LADDER SYSTEMS, LLCInventors: B. Publication number: 20210262288Abstract: Ladders and ladder components are described herein, including multipurpose and adjustable ladders. In one embodiment, a ladder includes a first assembly having rails and rungs, a second assembly having rails and rungs, and one or more hinges coupling the first and second assemblies together such that the first and second assembly may be positioned relative to one another in at least a position or state and at least a second position or state. The ladder is adjustable by moving a pin from a locked state in which it is located in a recess or slot of the hinges and prevents rotation of the hinges to an unlocked state in which it is removed from the recess or slot. Multiple joints can be simultaneously transitioned between locked and unlocked states using a releaser to move the pin, and a spring can bias the pin into a locked state.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2021Publication date: August 26, 2021Applicant: LITTLE GIANT LADDER SYSTEMS, LLCInventors: B.
