  • Patent number: 11444873
Abstract: The disclosed system provides for machine-to-machine routing of messages (e.g., text messages, binary information, etc.) between devices (e.g., external applications, IoT devices, etc.) using non-routable identifiers. The systems and methods publish an application programming interface (API) configured to receive (non-routable) identification information of a target device from an external application (e.g., an IoT Service Provider) that calls the API, determines whether a target device associated with the identification information is a subscriber of a telecommunications service provider that provides telecommunications plans to subscribers of the telecommunications service provider, verifies that the external application is authorized to transmit messages to the target device, and translates the non-routable identification information to a mapped device address that can be used to determine a location of the target device so that the message can be delivered to the target device.

  • Patent number: 11290570
Abstract: A primary user device may receive a termination command from an over-the-air (OTA) platform of a wireless carrier network to terminate a short-range wireless communication link with a companion user device. The primary user device may terminate a short-range wireless communication with the companion user device in response to the termination command to trigger the companion user device to establish a cellular communication link with the wireless carrier network. The primary user device may initiate a countdown of a predetermined time period for the companion user device to receive an OTA update from the OTA platform via the cellular communication link. When the countdown indicates that the predetermined time period has elapsed, the primary user device may reestablish the short-range wireless communication link with the companion user device to trigger the companion user device to terminate the cellular communication link.

  • Publication number: 20220086621
Abstract: One or more service data feeds that indicate a plurality of consumer eSIM profiles received are loaded into one or more profile data stores of at least one subscription management service are received at an Embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) profile management platform of a wireless communication carrier. A request from an entity to perform an action with respect to a particular consumer eSIM profile having a specific Integrated Circuit Card identifier (ICCID) may be received at the eSIM profile management platform. A request for performing the action with respect to the particular consumer eSIM profile is forwarded by the eSIM profile management platform to a subscription management service at least in response to determining that the specific ICCID matches an ICCID of a consumer eSIM profile that is indicated by the service data feed as being loaded into the profile data store of the subscription management service.

  • Patent number: 11277738
Abstract: Mobile network operator (MNO)-specific 5G functionality information may be distributed by an MNO to a user device. A request from a mobile network operator (MNO) to provide MNO-specific 5G functionality information of the MNO to a user device may be received. In turn, a messaging service may be directed to deliver the MNO-specific 5G functionality information to the user device for storage in an MNO-specific memory area allocated for the MNO in a trusted environment of the user device. The MNO-specific 5G functionality information may instruct the user device to use an encryption key stored in the trusted environment or an Embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) of the user device to encrypt or decrypt subscriber identifier information of the user device. The encrypted subscriber identifier information is used for 5G communications exchanged between the user device and a core network of a wireless carrier network operated by the MNO.

  • Patent number: 11223941
Abstract: One or more consumer Embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) profiles that are provided by at least one eSIM profile vendor may be received at a subscription management service of a wireless communication carrier. The one or more consumer eSIM profiles are loaded into a Subscription Manager Data Preparation Plus (SM-DP+) profile data store of the subscription management service, each consumer eSIM profile for deployment to an eUICC in a consumer device. At least one corresponding Integrated Circuit Card identifier (ICCID) of the one or more consumer eSIM profiles as loaded into the SM-DP+ data store is then sent via the subscription management service to an eSIM profile management platform of the wireless communication carrier using a service data feed, in which the eSIM profile management platform provides a central interface for a plurality of entities to perform actions with respect to multiple eSIM profiles and multiple eUICC Identifiers (EIDs).

  • Patent number: 11096021
Abstract: Registration information indicating that a wholesale BSS has activated eSIM profiles for corresponding telecommunication devices in corresponding vehicles is received, the registration information including a corresponding key associated with each vehicle. Following a consumer BSS receiving an activation request for activating a new line of telecommunication service for a telecommunication device of a vehicle, in which the activation request includes the key, and the consumer BSS assigning a virtual identifier from a virtual identifier pool to the telecommunication device in response to the activation request, a registration request is received from the consumer BSS that includes a key associated with the vehicle. The key is matched to an eSIM-associated identifier of an eSIM profile. The eSIM-associated identifier is then sent to the wholesale BSS to request that the wholesale BSS enable a new access point name (APN) of the new line of telecommunication service for the telecommunication device.

  • Patent number: 10798564
Abstract: An activation request from a user device that includes a promotion identifier of a promotion campaign is received at a server, in which the promotion identifier is encapsulated by a machine-readable code that further includes a network address of the server. The activation request is routed from the user device to the server via the network address. A determination of whether an embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) profile associated with the promotion campaign is available for download to the user device is made. When the eSIM profile is available, the eSIM profile is sent to the user device such that the user device is able to use the eSIM profile to access telecommunication services of a Mobile Network Operator (MNO) according to one or more terms of the promotion campaign. When the eSIM profile is unavailable, an indication that the promotion identifier is invalid is sent to the user device.

  • Patent number: 10721614
Abstract: A request to initiate a performance of an operation on an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile stored in an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) of a machine-to-machine (M2M) device is sent from a backend service of a wireless communication carrier to a subscription management service. A callback message is then received at the backend service from the subscription management service indicating that the operation is performed on the eSIM profile, in which the callback message including an eUICC identifier (ID) of the eUICC or an Integrated Circuit Card identifier (ICCID) of the eSIM profile. A profile state entry of the eSIM profile is locate via the backend service in an eSIM profile state database. The profile state entry of the eSIM profile is then updated via the backend service in the eSIM profile state database with an updated profile state of the eSIM profile after the operation.

  • Patent number: 10708763
Abstract: An on-boarding management entity may be implemented to manage interconnectivity among various enterprise entities and various subscription managers. A subscription manager identifier associated with each of the subscription managers may be used to map different enterprise entities to specific or range of subscription managers. In the event of additions or replacements of subscription managers, a business logic may be employed via a rules engine in order to internally map a subscription manager identifier of the desired subscription manager to the respective subscription manager. The business logic can also be employed to map and relay callbacks and notifications received from the subscription managers to respective enterprise entities.

  • Patent number: 10686912
Abstract: An over-the-air (OTA) platform of a wireless carrier network may be used to update a companion user device that is associated with a primary user device. The OTA platform receives a request from an entity to provide an OTA update to a companion user device that is registered with a wireless carrier network. The OTA platform identifies a primary user device associated with the companion user device based on subscriber account information for the companion user device. The OTA platform then sends a termination command to the primary user device to direct the primary user device to terminate an active short-range wireless communication link between the primary user device and the companion user device. This termination triggers the companion user device to establish a cellular communication link with the wireless carrier network. Subsequently, the OTA platform sends an OTA update to the companion user device via the cellular communication link.
