  • Patent number: 8892718
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring web service transactions include a monitoring server that is configured to monitor a web service transaction. The monitoring server allows a user to describe a sequence of web service requests that in combination define a web service transaction. The monitoring server sends out the web service requests in sequence to remote agents that are deployed in geographically diverse locations. The agents send the requests to the target web service and the results are provided back to the monitoring server. The monitoring server receives the results and then dynamically constructs the next request in the series based on the sequence of requests from the user and data from the response to a prior request. The dynamically constructed next request is then sent to remote agents for execution and the results are provided to the monitoring server.

  • Publication number: 20050235280
Abstract: A process and system for upgrading firmware in a thin client in a network environment. The process may proceed on an automated basis during boot-up by using one or more FTP addresses stored in the thin client. Multiple FTP servers may be accessed. The same firmware upgrades may be stored on more than one FTP server. Different firmware upgrades may instead or in addition be stored on different FTP servers.

  • Publication number: 20050193118
Abstract: A method for managing a session between a local computing device and a remote computing device, in which a session is established between a local computing device and a remote computing device, a lock session signal is transmitted from the remote computing device to the local computing device, a lock session signal is received at the local computing device, and the session is locked, at the local computing device. Furthermore, the user is prompted for identification information at the remote computing device, and the identification information is transmitted from the remote computing device to the local computing device. Moreover, the identification information is received at the local computing device, the identification information is authenticated at the local computing device, and the session is unlocked, at the local computing device.

  • Patent number: 6836885
Abstract: A video display terminal capable of operating with a graphical user interface such as Windows provides windowing functionality to permit use of popular applications programs resident on a server, without requiring more than application data to be transmitted from the server, and keyboard and mouse information to be transmitted from a terminal to the server. The terminal includes processing means, not fully compatible with personal computer BIOS or disk operating systems and incapable of executing windowing applications locally, adapted to receive windowing information supplied by programs executing on a remotely located application server. The terminal also includes a display for windowing information supplied by programs executing on the remotely located application server. The invention provides FTP and SNMP capabilities along with a number of user interface enhancements, DHCP and SHMP enhancements. File information is transferred to and from the terminal using a communications protocol.

  • Publication number: 20020165945
Abstract: A method and system for updating or making configuration changes to terminals by registry flying in a network is disclosed. The present invention is particularly useful to update or make configuration changes to an individual terminal in a thin client network. A registry is configured at a particular master terminal and the changed registry is transferred or flown via several different types of mechanisms to a management application using a management tool. The management application replicates and pushes the registry to one or more terminals or clients within the thin client network either successively or simultaneously. Several transport mechanisms can also be utilized to fly the registry to one particular terminal or a plurality of terminals.
