  • Patent number: 10694752
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species having Accession No. CCAP 211/134. The propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species has increased tolerance to propiconazole and has increased tolerance to abiotic stress. The present disclosure further provides a method for preparing the propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species. The propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species can selectively grow in the presence of propiconazole, has increased tolerance to temperature stress, and hence can be used for large scale production of algal biomass.

  • Patent number: 10561115
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella sp. having Accession No. CCAP 211/133. The propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species have increased tolerance to propiconazole. The present disclosure further provides a method for preparing the propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species. The propiconazole resistant mutants of Chlorella species can selectively grow in the presence of propiconazole, and hence can be used for large scale production of algal biomass.

  • Patent number: 10195585
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for the conversion of biomass to crude bio-oil. Phycocyanin is extracted from the biomass to form phycocyanin extracted biomass (PEB) and subjecting the PEB to HTL conversion to obtain crude bio-oil. PEB results in improved yield of crude bio-oil as compared to the crude bio-oil yield from biomass without first extracting the phycocyanin from the biomass.

    Filed: December 29, 2015
Date of Patent: February 5, 2019

  • Publication number: 20160369307
Abstract: According to an embodiment of the invention, there is provided a method of increasing biomass and lipid content in a micro-organism comprising cloning in a vector an exogenous gene sequence selected from the group comprising Atg1 gene, Atg6 gene, and Atg8 gene sequence wherein the sequence is codon optimized for said micro-organism, for inducing autophagy; introducing the vector containing the gene into the genome of the micro-organism to yield a genetically modified micro-organism; and growing the genetically modified micro-organism in suitable medium. According to another embodiment of the invention there is provided a method of increasing biomass and lipid content in a micro-organism exposed to stress, comprising treating the microorganism with an autophagy inducing agent.
