The control system can include a processor that is configured to determine a vehicle's current location and speed based on the vehicle system data, build a predetermined number of vehicle polygons hardcoded into an application for representing a predicted path of the vehicle, build at least one pedestrian polygon representing a predicted path for at least one pedestrian detected in pedestrian data, and define a plurality of warning zones based on the vehicle polygons, and determine if one or more of the pedestrian polygons intersects at least one of the predetermined number of hardcoded vehicle polygons.

    Abstract: A 3D-HEVC inter-frame information hiding method based on visual perception includes steps of information embedding and information extraction. In the step of information embedding, the human visual perception characteristic is considered, stereo salient images are obtained by a stereo image salient model, and the stereo salient images are divided into salient blocks and non-salient blocks with an otsu threshold. The coding quantization parameters are modified according to different modulation rules for different regions. Then, based on the modified quantization parameters, the coding-tree-units are coded to complete the information embedding. In the step of information extraction, no original video is needed, no any side information needs to be transmitted, and the secret information can be blindly extracted.

    Abstract: An ion source uses at least one induction coil to generate ac magnetic field to couple rf/VHF power into a plasma within a vessel, where the excitation coil may be a single set of turns each turn having lobes or multiple separate sets of windings. The excitation coil is positioned outside and proximate that side of the vessel that is opposite to the extraction slit, and elongated parallel to the length dimension of the extraction slit. The conducting shield(s) positioned outside or integrated with the well of the vessel are used to block the capacitive coupling to the plasma and/or to collect any rf/VHF current may be coupled into the plasma. The conducting shield positioned between the vessel and the coil set can either shield the plasma from capacitive coupling from the excitation coils, or be tuned to have a higher rf/VHF voltage to ignite or clean the source.

    Abstract: For use in offloading traffic to a wireless local area network (WLAN) a user equipment (UE) receives from a wireless wide area network at least a first set of thresholds having different thresholds corresponding to different types of data to be offloaded. The UE utilizes the threshold corresponding to a given type of data to evaluate whether an access node operating in the WLAN is suitable for offloading data of the given type. Only if the evaluated access node is determined to be suitable will the UE use it for offloading, and only for data of the given type. In other non-limiting embodiments the first set of thresholds has different thresholds corresponding to different data-types for different categories (e.g., subscription levels) of the UE; and there may be a second set of thresholds with different thresholds corresponding to different classifications of different WLAN access nodes.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for wirelessly communicating signals from trailer-mounted cameras to a towing vehicle, where the techniques overcome packet loss challenges caused by interferences, fading and poor signal strength. An advanced spectrum hopping algorithm monitors conditions on multiple channels in multiple frequency bands, detects congestion or collisions needing mitigation, and migrates transmissions as needed to other channels with greater free capacity. Network coding techniques are provided which transmit data packets via multiple paths, where the redundancy provides robustness against data packet losses. The multiple path network coding approach may include spectral diversity, where packets are transmitted on different bands, and spatial diversity, where packets are transmitted via different routes such as direct and repeater-based.
