Abstract: A data module is adapted for mounting to a liquid container, such as a water bottle, a wine bottle etc., for automatically calculating or monitoring the amount of liquid dispensed from the container. The module employs a pair of metal rings which function as a sensor to activate a timer as liquid passes through an outlet opening. The data may be used to calculate the amount of dispensed liquid and may be either stored at the module and/or may be wirelessly communicated from the module.
