  • Publication number: 20230308165
Abstract: A gateway device for use with a wide area network, wireless wide area network, a local area network, a client device and a wireless device, the gateway device being configured to operate in a hotspot mode so as to wirelessly transmit wireless device data and client device data to the wide area network via the wireless wide area network, said gateway device comprising: a memory; a primary communication system; a wireless communication system; and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on said memory to cause said gateway device to: instruct said primary communication system to operate in a primary mode of operation so as to transpond the client device data the wireless device data; detect a loss of connection with the wide area network; and operate in a hotspot mode of operation, wherein said primary communication system and said wireless communication system comprise a radio.

  • Patent number: 11765128
Abstract: A Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server includes a memory storing computer-readable instructions, and a processor configured to execute the computer-readable instructions to determine a media access control (MAC) address associated with a client, determine the MAC address associated with the client is a randomized MAC address, and assign an IP address the client from a DHCP IP server pool. The processor assigns an IP address to the client from a DHCP IP server pool using one of identifying, in a DHCP server table, at least one host name of the client and assigning a previously assigned IP address to the at least one host name of the client, and when the host name of the client is not available, assigning the IP address using a first lease with a first duration shorter than a default lease duration used for non-randomized MAC addresses.

  • Publication number: 20230171527
Abstract: A gateway device is disclosed for use with a WAN, wireless WAN, a LAN, a client device and a wireless device. The client device includes: a memory; a primary communication system; a wireless communication system; and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory to cause the network device to: instruct the primary communication system to transpond the client device data between the client device and the WAN and to transpond the wireless device data between the wireless device and the WAN; detect a loss of connection with the WAN; and instruct the wireless communication system to transpond the client device data between the client device and the WAN via the wireless device and the wireless WAN.

  • Publication number: 20230110016
Abstract: An access point device and a cellular communications system can support one or more location identifier features such that the cellular communications system can provide the access point device with one or more location parameters. The location parameters are indicative of a location of the access point device. The access point device can use the one or more location parameters to determine a location of the access point device. By knowing a location of the access point device, the access point device can determine a location for each client device connected to the access point device. In this way, a more accurate location can be determined by the access point device such that the location of any one or more client devices connected to the access point device can be provided so as to, for example, conserve resources and improve quality of service.

  • Publication number: 20220093096
Abstract: A client device attempts to communicate with an access point device both when it is connected to the wireless network along with the access point device as well as when the client device is remote communicating over the Internet. The client device determines a communications path and appropriate command protocol depending upon the client device's location and the communications command protocol supported by the access point device. Once this selection occurs, a user may provide a voice command which is translated into text and converted into an appropriate formatted command message for transmission to the access point device. Any response from the access point device is received by the client device as the same formatted command message which is converted to speech and presented to the user and both an audio and a visual display corresponding to the response.
