  • Publication number: 20250163889
Abstract: A computing system identifies a geographical region of interest. The computing system generates a background numerical weather prediction using a mesoscale numerical weather prediction model. The computing system identifies information associated with wind farms for inclusion in the geographical region of interest. For each wind farm, the computing system determines a wake effect of neighboring farms to the first wind farm by projecting wind deficits for the neighboring farms to generate a plurality of wake effects for the geographical region. The computing system generates an estimated power output for the wind farms in the geographical region of interest based on the plurality of wake effects.

  • Patent number: 11113701
Abstract: A method and associated apparatus (30) which, based on profiles of shoppers (100), along with the time spent by shoppers at each of a plurality of retail establishments, suggest offers most suitable to that particular profile. Shoppers' trails (past and present) are considered in order to generate and update profiles and predict future behavior and offer tailored incentives. For locating shoppers, an active Wi-Fi receiver on a mobile phone or other personal communication device can be identified by an access point (20, 22, 24) in a shop (10, 12, 14) by its MAC address as the shopper moves through a shopping centre, even if the device never connects to the access point. It is not necessary to identify the shoppers as named individuals; rather, it is possible to anonymously recognize them based on the MAC address.

  • Patent number: 10268963
Abstract: A decision support system and method of assessing an intervention action in response to a hazard situation. The decision support system outputs information representing the hazard situation by combining data from data sources describing one of the hazard situation and a physical domain including at least one source of real-time data from the physical domain. A simulation is run using rules to predict the behavior of individual agents in response to the hazard situation, where the system selects one action from a set of candidate intervention actions based on the behavior predicted by the agent and tests the selected intervention action by initiating, for each of a predetermined set of possible outcomes of the selected intervention action, an operation to reiterate the simulation with a respective possible outcome as a factor influencing agent behavior.

  • Publication number: 20170086052
Abstract: A technique for locating a user of a mobile device (UE2) in an emergency situation, using for example trilateration from three wireless base stations (BS1, BS2, BS3). The innovation lies in the use of base stations from other networks in the area and/or in configuring other hand-held devices in the area as temporary base stations, which can then be used to locate mobile users more accurately to deliver early warning messages.

  • Publication number: 20160217480
Abstract: An agent-based demand prediction system for generating weather-dependent product demand predictions using agent-based modeling in which the clients for the product are the agents. The system including an analytics module arranged to select and/or generate agent behavior rules based on historical data relating to weather-dependent product acquisition by client agents, a weather module arranged to acquire weather forecasts in real time and to access pre-defined weather event rules and an agent-based simulation module arranged to use the agent behavior rules and weather forecasts to simulate agent behavior and generate product demand predictions. The weather module is arranged to compare the acquired weather forecasts with the pre-defined weather event rules, and trigger a simulation in the agent-based simulation module based on a match between an acquired weather forecast and a pre-defined weather event rule.
