  • Patent number: 11580162
Abstract: Software that may be implemented using a circuit is disclosed. The software may include an Application Programming Interface (API) to receive a request from an application relating to a key-value pair for a Key-Value Solid State Drive (KV-SSD). The key-value pair may include a key and a value; the application may be executed by a processor. The software may also include combiner software to combine the key with an index to produce an indexed key, and execution software to execute an operation on the KV-SSD using the indexed key and the value.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2019
Date of Patent: February 14, 2023
Inventors: Balakrishnan Ganeshan, Alex Dininno, Giridhar G. Basava

  • Patent number: 10318426
Abstract: A storage cloud enabled platform includes storage nodes and application nodes which are the part of the same operating environment. The storage nodes and computation nodes are interconnected inside platform via an interface to provide improved response time and high bandwidth paths for storage applications. The computation nodes may include virtual or non-virtual machines. The interface may support various protocols depending on desired ease of use and response time. For example, a standardized protocol such as SCSI could be used for ease of use and data safety, or a direct data placement protocol could be used to help maximize response rate.

  • Patent number: 9733989
Abstract: A method, system and program product for enabling migration of Virtual Machines with concurrent access to data across two geographically disperse sites to enable load balancing across the two geographically disperse sites, by presenting over a network a read writable logical volume at a first site, presenting over a network a read writable logical volume at a second geographically disparate site; wherein the first volume and the second volume are configured to contain the same information, and enabling read write access to the volume at the first site or the volume at the second site for a first virtual machine while keeping the data consistent between the two sites to enable transparent migration of the virtual machine to load balancing across the two sites according to at least one load balancing metric.

  • Patent number: 9330151
Abstract: A log is identified which includes one or more transactions to a source database. The log is ingested using a processor included in a storage processor complex, where the storage processor complex includes storage and a processor associated with the storage. The ingested information is transformed into change data appropriate for a target database stored at least in part on the storage processor complex. The change data is applied to the target database.

  • Patent number: 9110693
Abstract: Migrating an active VM from a first data center to a second data center having a passive counterpart of the active VM includes freezing the active VM at the first data center, creating an active VM at the second data center that corresponds to the passive counterpart, and restarting the active VM at the second data center. Migrating an active VM from a first data center to a second data center may also include waiting for the passive counterpart to be synchronized with the active VM at the first data center prior to converting the passive counterpart. Creating the active VM at the second data center may include providing a snapshot of a volume containing the passive VM.
