  • Patent number: 10207748
Abstract: A longitudinal member arrangement of a body of a motor vehicle is designed such that, in the event of a collision of the motor vehicle, the longitudinal member arrangement progressively fails, absorbing collision energy, with a first longitudinal member element which is formed from a fiber composite, and with a second longitudinal member element which is formed from a fiber composite and is arranged behind the first longitudinal member element. The first longitudinal member element and the second longitudinal member element are connected to each other by a connecting element. The longitudinal member arrangement is designed such that, in the event of the collision of the motor vehicle, the second longitudinal member element begins to fail after the first longitudinal member element has failed.

  • Patent number: 9586621
Abstract: A vehicle body rail for a motor vehicle, which is constructed of fiber-reinforced plastic and is designed as a vehicle body rail which absorbs energy in the event of a collision of the motor vehicle, includes a wall. The wall is provided with indentations and/or elevations such that, in the event of an application of a predetermined collision threshold load in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body rail, a failure of the wall by fragmentation takes place in the area of the indentations and/or elevations.

  • Publication number: 20160288836
Abstract: A body for a motor vehicle includes a side member, which is made from a fiber-reinforced plastic composite, and a deformation element. The deformation element is designed such that it can absorb collision energy in a low relative speed range of the motor vehicle through fracture. The side member is designed such that it can absorb collision energy in a high relative speed range of the motor vehicle through brittle fracture. A side member start-of-fracture force level, at which the side member first starts to fracture, is greater than a side member mean fracture force level, at which the side member goes on to fracture. A deformation element start-of-fracture force level, at which the deformation element first starts to fracture, and a deformation element mean fracture force level, at which the deformation element goes on to fracture, are lower than the side member start-of-fracture force level.

  • Publication number: 20160059904
Abstract: A crash structure is provided for a vehicle. The crash structure includes at least two carriers produced of fiber-reinforced plastic, and at least one planar element produced of fiber-reinforced plastic. The planar element is connected to both carriers to avoid buckling of the carrier in the event of a crash.

  • Publication number: 20090320611
Abstract: The invention is an elastic cover for tactile sensors, said cover comprising an inner surface (11) suitable for being fixed to a surface defined by the tactile sensors, and an outer surface comprising a bump (13). The cover comprises a base layer (10), one surface of which is the inner surface (11), and on its outer surface (12) bumps (13) integral with the base layer (10) are formed. Further, the invention is a tactile sensor array with the elastic cover.
