  • Patent number: 7086143
Abstract: A machining system (SYS) for carrying out manufacturing in assembly lines is provided with individual tool units (WE1, WE2, . . . , WEn) that each include a holding device (3-1, 3-2, . . . , 3-n). The individual tool units (WE1, WE2, . . . , WEn) also comprise a position determination device (PBE1, PBE2, . . . , PBn) that determines the position of the tool unit along a retaining rail (4), in which the tool units are suspended. A control unit (ST1, ST2, . . . , STn) adjusts machining parameter sets according to the position of the tool units detected in the aforementioned manner. The retaining rail (4) is preferably provided in the form of a retaining rail, in which a conductor rail (11) and a data rail (10) are integrated whereby rendering trailing of the cable unnessary for conducting data communications and for supplying power.

  • Patent number: 6928332
Abstract: The invention related to a processing tool and a processing device for processing a workpiece (5) that is located in a predetermined processing area (1), at a plurality of processing points (4, 4?). A recognition device (20) recognizes the individual processing points (4, 4?) on the workpiece (5) or determines a relative position between the processing tool (7) and the workpiece (5). This ensures that an operator carrier out a predetermined number of processing operations without leaving out any processing point. The recognition device (20, 200) preferably comprises an image pick-up device, on or integrated in the tool (7) or an image pick-up device which picks up an image of the whole processing area (1) and evaluates it.

  • Publication number: 20020029092
Abstract: The inventive processing tool (4″) for processing a workpiece (5) comprises detecting device (4) for detecting workpiece-specific parameters and/or processing-specific parameters which are located on the workpiece (5, 5′). Said processing toll (4) and other processing tools (1-3) of a processing device are pre-set with the data that have been read. A processing operation can begin immediately after these data have been read, without the operator having a return to the processing tool pick-up device.
