Abstract: A phosphorus-free heavy duty synthetic organic detergent composition of improved cleaning power which includes certain proportions of sodium linear higher alkylbenzene sulfonate, molecular sieve zeolite, preferably type 4A molecular sieve zeolite, percompound oxidizing agent which is either an alkali metal perborate tetrahydrate, an alkali metal percarbonate, an alkali metal carbonate peroxide or a mixture thereof, and sodium silicate of Na.sub.2 O:SiO.sub.2 ratio in the range of 1:1 to 1:3.2. Preferably, the product also includes higher fatty alcohol polyethoxylate detergent. The invented product demonstrates good soil removal properties when compared with similar products containing a pentasodium tripolyphosphate builder salt. Methods of laundering fabrics with the invented compositions are also described.

Abstract: Agglomerates of water insoluble builder molecular sieve zeolites are made by tumbling or otherwise suitably mixing very finely divided ion exchanging zeolite powder and a water soluble binder, such as starch, preferably in the presence of a small amount of moisture sufficient to promote desirable agglomeration of the finely divided ion exchanging zeolite particles and the binder into essentially spherical particles, preferably in the 6 to 140 mesh range. The agglomerates are readily disintegrated when agitated in water and rapidly release the separated very finely divided insoluble builder particles to allow them to remove hardness ions from the water. The dispersible and disintegrable agglomerates are especially useful in heavy duty detergent compositions wherein the zeolite of the agglomerate provides all or a substantial proportion of the builder content.

Abstract: A stable homogeneous paste detergent is provided comprising about 24% of a synthetic nonionic detergent, about 8% of sodium silicate, about 24% of a type A zeolite, about 0.2% of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, about 34.7% of deionized water and about 9.1% of a synthetic anionic detergent.

Abstract: Detergent compositions using only alkali metal citrate and carbonate builder salts are disclosed. The detergent compositions disclosed have a lower alkalinity than phosphate-free detergents employing high concentrations of silicates.

Abstract: A non-phosphate and non-NTA containing detergent composition comprising from about 30 to 95% by weight of a detergent, especially an anionic or nonionic detergent and from about 5 to 70% by weight of trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid, cis-1,2-diaminocyclohexane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid and salts thereof.

Abstract: Novel urea-ethoxamer inclusion compounds and a method for their production is disclosed. The new method includes mixing of the ethoxamer with a urea-organic solvent slurry and the subsequent addition of small amounts of silica substances before final curing of the mixture. Ethoxamer content of the new inclusion compounds can be as high as about 65 percent by weight. The new compounds are in the form of free flowing powders and are suitable for post addition to spray dried detergent formulations in order to substantially increase the nonionic surfactant content of the particulate detergent product.
