  • Patent number: 9378784
Abstract: A security device includes a controller configured to determine a flow identifier and an event counter associated with a received data packet and a counter memory including multiple memory banks where each memory bank stores a partial counter value for one or more event counters. The counter memory is indexed by a counter identifier associated with the event counter. A memory controller selects a memory bank in the counter memory that was not the memory bank last selected and the partial counter value associated with the counter identifier in the selected memory bank is updated, the updated partial counter value being written back to the selected memory bank. In one embodiment, the partial counter value is updated and written back within the latency window of the memory bank last selected.

  • Patent number: 9358008
Abstract: A wound closure device for closing a surgical wound includes at least one compressive clip for applying pressure to a patient's tissue. The clip includes a first clamping arm, a second clamping arm, and a flexible pin maintained between the first and second clamping arms in a press-fit relationship. Each of the first and second clamping arms has a proximal first end, an opposing distal second end and a sidewall extending therebetween. The clip has a first position in which the proximal first ends of the first and second clamping arms partially engage or do not engage each other and a second position in which the proximal first ends of the first and second clamping arms pivotally engage each other. In the second position of the clip, a compressive force generated at the proximal first ends is transferred through the first and second clamping arms to the distal second ends.

  • Publication number: 20150196302
Abstract: A surgical clip applicator includes a base housing having a body portion, a movable trigger, a cannula, and a clip application mechanism extending within and through at least a portion of a length of the cannula. The clip application mechanism includes a movable first linkage and a jaw rotatable about a pivot mount. A first actuation of the trigger causes the first linkage to be moved in a linear direction with respect to the body portion and the cannula and the jaw to be rotated in a first direction about the pivot mount, for placing the clip in an open position on the patient's tissue. A second actuation of the trigger causes the jaw to be rotated in second direction about the pivot mount, the second direction being opposite to the first direction, placing the clip in a closed position on the patient's tissue.

  • Patent number: 8050261
Abstract: Embodiments according to the invention relate to frame redirection, which includes methods to intercept and re-route traffic between an initiator and a target. When a frame is redirected, an initiator issues a frame to the target, but the frame is received by a virtual target in a redirection switch by allowing the redirection switch to use the WWN of the actual target. From the perspective of the initiator, the target resides on the redirection switch. From the redirection switch, the frame is sent to the actual target by allowing the redirection switch to use the identity of the initiator. In other words, the redirection switch presents the WWN of the initiator to the target when the redirected frame is sent to the target. From the perspective of the target, the frame is received as if it originated at the initiator.

  • Patent number: 7397254
Abstract: Methods for determining an electrical parameter of an insulating film are provided. One method includes measuring a surface potential of a leaky insulating film without inducing leakage across the insulating film and determining the electrical parameter from the surface potential. Another method includes applying an electrical field across the insulating film. Leakage across the insulating film caused by the electrical field is negligible. The method also includes measuring a surface potential of the specimen and determining a potential of the substrate. In addition, the method includes determining a pure voltage across the insulating film from the surface potential and the substrate potential. The method further includes determining the electrical parameter from the pure voltage. The electrical parameter may be capacitance or electrical thickness of the insulating film.
