  • Publication number: 20230131074
Abstract: The invention relates to a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver, comprising 1) a radiofrequency (RF) front-end configured to acquire GNSS signals emitted by a plurality of GNSS satellites in at least two snapshot time windows, wherein each emitted GNSS signal comprises a respective known spreading code identifying the emitting GNSS satellite, and wherein the RF front-end is configured to transform the acquired GNSS signals in each of the at least two snapshot time windows into a digital sequence, respectively, and 2) a receiver unit configured to determine for each snapshot time window pseudo-ranges from the GNSS receiver to at least a subset of the emitting GNSS satellites, respectively, wherein said at least two subsets corresponding to the at least two snapshot time windows may differ from one another, and wherein said pseudo-ranges are determined using (i) the known spreading codes and (ii) the at least two digital sequences.

  • Publication number: 20210255333
Abstract: A system for updating almanac data in low-power GNSS mobile devices (30-34), including a server that keeps a local copy of the almanacs stored in each of the devices and evaluates repeatedly the quality of the almanac of each of the mobile devices (30-34). The evaluation comprises predicting the Doppler shifts for all the satellites potentially receivable by the mobile device using the orbital parameters in the copy and comparing the result with an accurate determination of the same Doppler shifts based on real orbital data.

  • Patent number: 10917135
Abstract: A hopping spread-spectrum wireless network for IoT applications operating in a predetermined frequency band, with mobile device that have unsynchronized local frequency references and receiving gateways that are capable of detecting whether modulated radio signals will collide in frequency in a collision time interval, and blanking the signals in the collision time. Preferably, the frequency band is subdivided into a sub-bands, and the mobile devices adapt the width of the sub-bands used for transmission based on a synchronization status indicative of the frequency error of the local frequency reference.

  • Patent number: 9559809
Abstract: One embodiment described herein relates to a method of predicting the performance of a communication system on a transmission channel. The system may comprise a transmitter suitable for applying bit interleaved coded modulation to information bits issued by a source to generate coded symbols, these coded symbols being transmitted by the transmitter over the transmission channel. The coded modulation may be based on a turbo-code comprising at least two constituent codes. The system may also comprise an iterative receiver, suitable for performing an iterative interference cancellation technique to process the coded symbols received from the transmission channel, the iterative receiver comprising an equalizer, a demodulator, and a turbo-decoder that are activated during each iteration performed by the iterative receiver.
