    Abstract: A laminate structure is provided which includes a first polymeric substrate laminated to a second polymeric substrate. A primer coating comprising the reaction product of polyethyleneimine and formaldehyde is included on the surface of the first polymeric substrate which is subsequently printed with an ink or toner image prior to lamination to the second polymeric substrate. The primer coating provides good toner and/or ink adhesion to the polymeric substrate. The primer coating also provides improved bond strength upon lamination of the first and second polymeric substrates as well as providing water resistance to the laminate structure.
