  • Publication number: 20220202528
Abstract: A device is provided for assembling components of a mixing syringe for use in a dental procedure. For this assembly, the components of interest include a beak and a mixing tip for the syringe. Specifically, the device includes a top plate formed with a hole, and a support member for the top plate that maintains the hole at a predetermined height H above a surface when the device is placed on the surface. For an assembly operation, the beak is supported on the device with a portion of the beak inserted downwardly through the hole of the top plate. This also extends a gripping member of the beak upwardly above the top plate. A grab ring of the mixing tip is then pushed against the gripping member of the beak for their engagement with each other. They are then removed together from the device and engaged with the mixing syringe.

  • Publication number: 20070055002
Abstract: A water-borne latex paint system, comprising a base paint, an associative thickener, a colorant compound, and at least 0.1% dry weight of a block copolymer ABCBA composition. For the ABCBA polymer wherein the A component is a hydrophobic group A, the B component is a hydrophilic polymer B and the C component is a low molecular weight hydrophobic group C. The ABCBA-type polymer includes an A component which is a monomer unit containing a moiety selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group or an alkyl aryl group, the B component includes poly(ethylene glycol), and the C component is selected from the group of diols consisting of poly(tetrahydrofuran), poly(caprolactone) poly(carbonate), ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and 1,2-dodecanediol. The block copolymer acts as a viscosity stabilizer in the presence of associative thickeners.

  • Publication number: 20010045037
Abstract: A patient care and medical alert system for a patient care facility is disclosed which includes a message board adapted and configured to be mounted on a wall associated with a room of the patient care facility. The message board has a front surface defining a permanent message area and a temporary message area. The permanent message area contains indicia identifying the room. A set of message bearing members are provided and each contains distinct indicia relevant to the care of a patient located with the room adjacent the message board. The message bearing members each include structure for effecting the removable attachment thereof to the front surface of the message board within the temporary message area.

  • Patent number: 6103687
Abstract: Quaternary ammonium compositions are described which are made in diluents based on vegetable oil such as soya bean oil. Such diluents remain as diluents in the final product and generally have a vapor pressure of 1 mm of Hg or less at 25.degree. C., and are liquid at ambient temperature. The liquid quaternary ammonium compound/diluent compositions have low toxicity and low volatile organic compound emission rates and high flash points, and can be tailored to particular applications. Such applications include use in fabric softeners, as cosmetics ingredients, deinking additives, surfactants, and reaction materials in the manufacture of organoclays.

  • Patent number: 6020407
Abstract: An improved thickening composition for aqueous systems including latex paints and coatings is described. The substantially anhydrous composition comprises in specified ratios a solid thickener polymer, and one or more surfactants. The solid thickener polymer includes associative thickeners. Associative thickener polymers include polyurethanes, polyesters, polyacrylamides, modified hydroxyethyl celluloses, alkali soluble emulsions and other chemicals. Specific surfactants utilized include dialkyl sulfosuccinates, alkyl sulfates, alpha olefin sulfonates and sulfates of ethoxylated alcohols.

  • Patent number: 5759938
Abstract: Quaternary ammonium compositions are described which are made using diluents including soya bean oil, caster oil, mineral oils, isoparaffin/naphthenic and coconut oil. Such diluents remain as diluents in the final product and generally have a vapor pressure of 1 mm of Hg or less at 25.degree. C., and are liquid at ambient temperature. The quaternary/ammonium diluent compositions have low volatile organic compound emission rates and high flash points, and can be tailored to particular applications.
