  • Patent number: 7571197
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of efficiently accessing shared JavaScript objects within a multi-user environment by reducing the overhead required to maintain object/database property synchronization. A version is associated with each object to indicate whether any particular requested access is associated with the most current properties of the object. Each user has a version list which indicates whether any particular object properties need be updated before access. The version list is maintained in faster and more available memory than the actual object to enhance efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7506045
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of utilizing an Internet terminal coupled to the world wide web to interface with an existing proprietary data base management system through a customized user interface which permits access to a corresponding application service. Instead of coupling the customized user interface directly to the corresponding application service, all communication between these two elements is via the proprietary data base management system. This technique permits the customized user interface and the corresponding application to be separately and independently developed, because all communication there between is via the predefined access rules of the proprietary data base management system.

  • Publication number: 20090070743
Abstract: Techniques are provided to analyze software applications, and in particular, to obtain visibility to the execution of a database application. As the software application issues requests to a database, the system determines based on a first set of programmable parameters whether the requests are of a type to trigger data collection. If so, a second set of programmable parameters are utilized to determine which data, if any, to collect for one or more sub-portions of the request. In one embodiment, the sub-portions are commands recognized by a database management system. Collected data is used to generate visual and textual models of the application.

  • Patent number: 7188109
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of processing a digital certificate by a legacy data base management system within its legacy security facility. The digital certificate is defined by accepted international standards and is presented to the legacy data base management system after being unpacked and stored within a temporary file. This permits the legacy data base management system to fully utilize and benefit from the digital certificate technology, even though it possesses an incompatible security facility.

  • Patent number: 7013341
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of utilizing an Internet terminal coupled to the world wide web to interface with an existing proprietary data base management system through a user interface which permits access to an application service using a combination of proprietary language syntax and SGML-derived syntax. A specific code within the proprietary language is redefined to indicate that the immediately following script is in SGML-derived syntax.

  • Publication number: 20050262037
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of utilizing an Internet terminal coupled to the world wide web to access a legacy data base management system having a dialog-based request format using a standardized object-based command language, such as JavaScript, rather than the proprietary command language native to the legacy data base management system. This approach leverages the power of the legacy data base management without the need for the user to become familiar with the proprietary command language of the legacy data base management system. The approach is particularly efficient in that the user can easily specify the extent to which the dataset associated with honoring of the service request will be left in its original state or a modified state.

  • Publication number: 20050262070
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of utilizing JavaScript to request a complex combining across multiple datasets from a legacy data base management system. The user is thus able to evoke the powerful dataset combination tools of the legacy data base management system without the need to understand and use the command language of the legacy data base management system.

  • Patent number: 6354570
Abstract: The present invention provides a device and method for lifting. The device has a handle member configured to be grasped by a user, joined to a lifting arm which is configured to engage an object to be lifted. The handle member and the lifting arm are rigidly connected at a vertex and form an obtuse angle therebetween. Further, the device has at least one wheel coupled thereto near the vertex, which allows forward and backward displacement of the device during the raising and lowering an object.
