    Abstract: Flame retardant graft organopolysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymers are provided which can be made by effecting addition between a silicon-hydride siloxane and an aliphatically unsaturated substituted bisphenol followed by phosgenation of the resulting adduct. Alternatively, direct addition of the silicon-hydride siloxane onto an aliphatically unsaturated substituted polycarbonate backbone also can be effected.

The phenol-organopolysiloxane chainstoppers can be made by effecting addition between an aliphatically unsaturated phenol and a silicon-hydride organopolysiloxane.
