Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for a media guidance application that coordinates the display of direction-specific media assets on a display device associated with a particular direction. For example, the media guidance application may receive data (e.g., stored when an image or video was created) that indicates a direction a content capture device was facing when the image or video was captured. Based on that data, the media guidance application may select a particular display device (e.g., a computer, tablet, television, etc.) that corresponds to the direction (e.g., from the point of view of a user) on which to present the media asset.

The system monitors the network of the apartment or house and detects when a guest device is accessing the network. The system then accesses the guest's interests and identifies a set of programs based on these interests. Based on receiving the user input, the system retrieves a media clip library associated with user and updates the media clip library to include the portion of the media asset.

The scheduled time for recording one or more programs then may be altered or overridden by the data sent to the recorder. For example, the data may be sent by a service provider or broadcaster of video programs. Alternatively, certain phrases relating to a change in a program's duration in an audio channel or closed caption channel are recognized or sensed to update or alter the recording time of the recorder. The system may include a provision to record one or more video programs with reduced commercial advertisements, or a recording with substantially commercial advertisements.
