  • Publication number: 20060286099
Abstract: Hapten-carrier conjugates capable of eliciting anti-hapten antibodies in vivo by administering, in a therapeutic composition, are disclosed. Methods of preparing said conjugates and therapeutic compositions are also disclosed. Where the hapten is a drug of abuse, a therapeutic composition containing the hapten-carrier conjugate is particularly useful in the treatment of drug addiction, more particularly, cocaine addiction. Passive immunization using antibodies raised against conjugates of the instant invention is also disclosed. The therapeutic composition is suitable for co-therapy with other conventional drugs.

  • Patent number: 7062642
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for establishing a path for data transmissions in a system having a plurality of possible paths by creating a configuration database and establishing internal connection paths based upon a configuration policy and the configuration database. The configuration policy can be based on available system resources and needs at a given time. In one embodiment, one or more tables are initiated in the configuration database to provide connection information to the system. For example, a path table and a service endpoint table can be employed to establishing a partial record in the configuration database whenever a user connects to a particular port on a universal port card in the system. The method can further include periodically polling records in the path table and transmitting data from the partial records to a policy provisioning manager (PPM).

  • Publication number: 20060069590
Abstract: Intelligent Trust Management provides a centralized security facility that gives system components a flexible mechanism for implementing security policies. System components such as applications create a request describing an action that needs to be checked against an appropriate security policy. The request is given to a trust system that determines which policy object applies to the request, and may pass request arguments to the policy. The policy objects include executable code that uses any arguments along with dynamically obtained variable information to make a decision. The decision is returned to the system component, which then operates accordingly. Policy objects may maintain state and interface with the user independent of the system component in order to obtain information to make their decisions. Policy objects may call other policy objects and/or mathematically combine the results of other policy objects to make a decision.

  • Publication number: 20050138363
Abstract: A system for using a certificate authority to first provide a customer with a digital certificate, and then having a relying party that receives that digital certificate access a status authority (the certificate authority or its designated agent) to receive a reissued certificate on that certificate. The reissued certificate has a much shorter validity period, which ensures that the information is timely. Moreover, the certificate may serve as a receipt, including an accumulated record of the signatures (digital certificates) and policy applied throughout the financial transaction. As a result, each transfer of the transaction forms a digitally-signed chain of evidence recording each step of the transaction and policy applied thereto, whereby risk may be assumed and charged for appropriately and in accordance with the risk purchaser's policy.

  • Publication number: 20050115641
Abstract: A weaving horse assembly for supporting a basket form during construction of a woven basket. The weaving horse assembly comprises a support structure and a clamp arm including a U-shaped frame. The base of the U-shaped frame is rotatably mounted to the support structure such that the clamp arm is movable from a generally vertical position to a generally horizontal position. The U-shaped frame has upper and lower arms each having a free end, with the free end of the lower arm defining a form pole for supporting a basket form and the free end of the upper arm defining a clamp for securing a basket bottom to the basket form.

  • Publication number: 20040215964
Abstract: The systems and methods provide for configuring and managing resources on a multi-purpose IC card. In one aspect, a user interface (UI) for an application is presented on a display device. A user is enabled via at least one graphical dialog screen of the UI to configure a communicatively coupled IC card. Management of one or more resources on the IC card is facilitated via at least one graphical dialog screen of the UI.

  • Patent number: 6810479
Abstract: A computerized system offers a uniform platform for conducting electronic transactions in multiple different environments. The system includes a portable, multi-purpose, integrated circuit (IC) card and complimentary computer software which enables access and management of resources maintained on the IC card. The software runs on a user's personal computer, empowering the user to initialize the IC card, configure the card with the resources that the user wants to maintain on the card, and to manage those resources. The software enables the user to generate private/public key pairs and establish or change passcodes for access to the card resources. The IC card itself provides the electronic vehicle for securely transporting the user's private keys and certificates without exposing them in plaintext form.

  • Patent number: 6694450
Abstract: A distributed software redundancy design is disclosed to minimize network outages and other problems associated with component/process failures by spreading software backup (in the so-called “hot state”) across multiple elements. The distributed redundancy architecture of the present invention also permits the location of the hardware backup element to float, that is, if a primary element fails, the functions can be transferred over to the backup element. When the failed primary element is replaced, the replacement hardware can serve as the hardware backup. If one or more of the primary processes on a particular element experiences a software fault, the processor on the line card may terminate and restart the failing process or processes. Once the process or processes are restarted, a copy of the last known dynamic state (i.e.

  • Patent number: 6654903
Abstract: The invention provides a method for fault isolation in a computer system, such as a network device. The method calls for providing a plurality of modular processes, and forming groups, based on hardware in the computer system, of one or more of the plurality of modular processes. A fault within a group is detected, and recovery from the detected fault is accomplished without affecting processes or hardware in other groups.

  • Patent number: 6601186
Abstract: The present invention provides a computer system having a modular control process, and a modular device driver process that works in conjunction with the control process. The device driver process is capable of continuing operation even if the control process is terminated, for example, upon detection of a fault. In one aspect, the invention provides a network device that includes a control plane and a data plane. The control plane includes a modular control application for establishing and terminating network connections, and the data plane has an independent, modular device driver process for transmitting data over network connections established by the control application. The device driver process is capable of continuing to transmit data over established network connections even if the control application is terminated.

  • Patent number: 6332198
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for supporting multiple redundancy schemes in a single network device. In one network device, various redundancy schemes are supported including 1:1, 1+1, 1:N, no redundancy or a combination of redundancy schemes. In addition, the redundancy scheme or schemes for physical network device cards (i.e., universal port cards) or ports may be different from the redundancy scheme or schemes for forwarding network device cards. For example, a network manager may want to provide 1:1 or 1+1 redundancy for all universal port cards and/or ports but only 1:N redundancy for each N group of forwarding cards.
