    Abstract: A color display system is provided that may be suitable for use in a navigation system. The color display system includes a controller that selects a color scheme for the images and/or text displayed by a color display device in response to an indication of the user's ability to distinguish colors. The color display system further includes a user interface arranged to exchange information with the user, which may include color vision deficiency information indicating the user's ability to distinguish colors. Using the information regarding the user's ability to distinguish colors, the color display system may be configured to modify at least one parameter of the display's color scheme in response to a user's color vision deficiency information.
