The user modeling server has an associated function for regulating exchange of usage data between any of a first application and a second application in the set, wherein the function defines: whether the usage data are provided by the first application to the second application, and a degree of trust acknowledged by the second application to the provided usage data. The function is in the form of a bi-directional relationship, wherein any of the first and second applications is configured for accepting, refusing or negotiating the relationship. The function is preferably configured for valuating the usage data, and defining debit and credit values each application has in respect to usage data exchanged with other applications in the set.

Abstract: Information content is provided from at least one server to at least one user terminal, the information content being customized according to a user model. To that end at least a portion of the user model provided at the user terminal is sent from the user terminal to the server thus making it available to the server. The information is customized on the basis of the user model as made available to the server and sent from the server to the user terminal. The portion of the user model possibly stored at the server is eventually deleted from the server.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (11), system (10) and method for programming and reproducing events, for instance television events, wherein the device (11) is able to prearrange, based on a list of events accessible by a user and of demands expressed by the same user, a programming guide, corresponding to the expressed demands. The device (11) implements one or more modules, representative of one or more Expert modules and/or of one or more parameter class generators, and is able to combine both the Expert modules and the parameter classes to prearrange the programming guide of the events. Thanks to the capability of using multiple Experts and/or multiple parameter classes, the device (11) allows to obtain, in flexible fashion, event programming results that are particularly close to the user's demands.
