In addition, the system may be configured to collect, display, and model an individual's genomic makeup, physiological characteristics, healthcare history, and lifestyle to enable personalized medicine, better understand the transition from health to disease, and identify additional risk factors for disease. Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for facilitating compliance with a medication regimen by a user. The method includes the steps of providing the user with a medication dispensing unit for dispensing medication to the user and a wireless transceiver operatively coupled to a controller of the medication dispensing unit, downloading a set of instructions for controlling the medication unit from a server to the controller of the medication dispensing unit through the wireless transceiver and downloading a set of instructions that instruct the user on how to use the dispensed medication through the wireless transceiver to the user.
