Patent number: 10719818Abstract: Systems and methods for generating proposed budget amounts by a budget tool are provided. A budget system identifies a budget category for a user. Information associated with one or more payees of the user and payment history information associated with one or more payments made to a payee included in the one or more payees is obtained from a bill payment system. Based at least in part on the obtained information, the payee is identified by the budget system as a budget payee associated with the budget category. Based at least in part on the identified payment history information, a proposed budget amount for the budget payee is calculated. A presentation is generated that includes an indication of the budget category, an indication of the budget payee, and an indication of the proposed budget amount. The generated presentation is transmitted by the budget system for display to the user.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2010Date of Patent: July 21, 2020Assignee: FISERV, INC.Inventors: Joseph Carl Dickerson, Barbara Wilson Whiteside

Patent number: 10142321Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are disclosed for performing single sign-on processing between associated mobile applications. The single sign-on processing may include processing to generate an interaction session between a user and a back-end server associated with a mobile application based at least in part on one or more existing interaction sessions between the user and one or more back-end servers associated with one or more other mobile applications. In order to establish an interaction session with an associated back-end server, a mobile application may leverage existing interaction sessions that have already been established in connection with the launching of other associated mobile applications.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2017Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignee: FISERV, INC.Inventors: David Francis Scavo, Barbara Wilson Whiteside

Publication number: 20150227904Abstract: Embodiments of the invention may provide systems and methods for processing a payment coupon image. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an image representing a payment coupon from a payer, determining an identity of a biller associated with the payment coupon based at least in part on information displayed by the image, and extracting data from the image based at least in part on payment coupon metadata associated with the biller indicating a layout of the payment coupon. The method may further include performing at least one of: (a) processing a payment associated with the payment coupon to the biller based at least in part on the data extracted from the image; (b) adding the biller to a list of billers for a payer associated with the payment coupon; or (c) activating the biller as an electronic biller for the payer associated with the payment coupon.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2015Publication date: August 13, 2015Inventors: Mary Elizabeth Lawson, Joseph Carl Dickerson, Barbara Wilson Whiteside, Donald Kenneth Hobday, Hans Daniel Dreyer

Patent number: 8543501Abstract: Embodiments of the invention may provide systems and methods for capturing and processing payment coupon information. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an image representing a payment coupon from a payer and determining an identity of a biller associated with the payment coupon from the image. It may then be determined that no payment coupon metadata for obtaining one or more fields from the payment coupon is stored in association with the biller. The method may then include requesting a respective set of one or more field indicators representing at least an approximate size or an approximate location for one or more fields within the image. Upon receipt, the field indicators for the fields within the image are stored as the payment coupon metadata in association with the biller.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2010Date of Patent: September 24, 2013Assignee: Fiserv, Inc.Inventors: Mary Elizabeth Lawson, Joseph Carl Dickerson, Barbara Wilson Whiteside, Donald Kenneth Hobday, Hans Daniel Dreyer
