  • Patent number: 7533110
Abstract: A file conversion system includes a filter and conversion tool and an Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML) tool. The filter and conversion tool reads a first file comprises a first digital content item and a corresponding first indication of style to be applied to the first digital content item and a second digital content item and a corresponding second indication of style to be applied to the second digital content item. The filter and conversion tool modifies the first file to remove the first digital content item from the first file and converts the modified first file to a second file comprising the second digital content item and a HTML tag based on the second style indication of the first file. The HTML to XHTML tool converts the second file to a third file comprising XHTML tags.

  • Patent number: 7415665
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for compressing a file comprising computer markup language. Contents of a file containing markup language, including a first and second markup language tag, are read. Data corresponding to the first and second markup language tags is identified and the first markup language tag, data and a placeholder are pushed onto a stack. A method and system of decompressing the resulting compressed document are also disclosed. The first markup language tag, data and placeholder are popped off the stack, and the second markup language tag corresponding to the first markup language tag is identified. The second markup language tag corresponding to the first markup language tag is generated, and the first markup language tag, data and second markup language tag are stored in memory.

  • Patent number: 7333615
Abstract: A first device receives first information and second information, encrypts the first information with a first set of encryption keys, and encrypts a combination of the second information and the encrypted first information with a second set of encryption keys into a first message. The first device may send the first message to a second device that receives the first message, decrypts the first message with a third set of encryption keys to yield the second information and the encrypted first information, determines a third information based on the second information, and encrypts into a second message, a combination of the third information and the encrypted first information, with a fourth set of encryption keys. The second message may be sent to a third device for decryption.

  • Patent number: 7299982
Abstract: Data concerning post-consumption items is collected from RF tags. RF tags applied to goods and materials that have been consumed or used and/or discarded or stored for recycling are read by a reader. The reader collects data from the tag and stores the data and/or transmits the collected data to a computing device such as a building management or host computer. A computing device associated with the reader may also retrieve data associated with the RF tag from one or more datastores of information concerning the post-consumption item. Additional processing may be performed to determine the composition and other attributes of the item or material. Based upon the data retrieved from the RF tag, and optionally, data in the datastore(s), and/or processing occurring within the associated computing device, characteristics including the composition and nature of the post-consumption items, location of the items and other characteristics and associated information are determined.

  • Publication number: 20040268321
Abstract: A system for remote computer access comprises a first computer upon which an application runs, and a second computer upon which outputs from the application are implemented and from which inputs to control the application are received. A network communicatively couples the first and second computing systems. As an application executes on the first computing system, output-related instructions such as those related to displaying data are translated into a non-proprietary data format such as, for example, an extensible markup language (XML) data item. The XML data item is transmitted over the network using non-proprietary protocols such as, for example, HTTP to the second computing system. At the second computing system, the output-related instruction is translated into a corresponding instruction native to the second computing system and thereafter executed on the second computing system.

  • Patent number: 6826602
Abstract: A proxy server identifies data items on a data server that are infrequently changed. The proxy server receives the infrequently changed data items and stores the data item. The proxy server forwards a copy of the data item to other proxy servers. When a request for the data item is received at the proxy server, a message indicating the request has been received is forwarded to the data server. The proxy server communicates instructions to one of the proxy servers to forward the data item to the requesting machine.

  • Patent number: 6823372
Abstract: Data items that are retrieved in response to a data request are compared to previously retrieved copies of the same data items. Portions of a data item that have not changed relative to the previous version may be specially designated as a virtual-edge-side-asset. The data items are modified to replace portions corresponding to VESA's with references to those VESA's. The modified version of the data item is communicated across the network. At a computing system closer in network proximity to the requesting machine, the data item is again modified to replace references to VESA's with the actual portion of the data item that was removed.

  • Patent number: 6795108
Abstract: A user may initiate a video conference session by dialing a predefined code on their telephone and thereafter dialing the telephone number of the party with whom it is desired to establish the video conference. An AIN network retrieves pre-stored information regarding the characteristics of the computing systems to be included in the video conference. Thereafter, the network automatically establishes communication between the computing devices.
