  • Patent number: 11388499
Abstract: An audio device for insertion into an ear canal of a user that includes an adjustable ear tip. The ear tip is formed by a sleeve disposed on a body of the audio device with a first end of the sleeve coupled to an output end of the body. In a retracted state, the sleeve lies alongside an exterior surface of the body. Movement of the second end relative to the body moves the second end axially along the body and flexes the sleeve radially outward away from the body. An extent of movement of the second end is selectable to provide a radial dimension of the sleeve and thus the ear tip that provides a suitable fit of the audio device with a user's ear canal.

  • Patent number: 11368775
Abstract: Wireless, wearable audio devices and methods for assigning position and operational controls. Wireless audio devices or earbuds are described that are provided as a pair in which both audio devices are physically substantially identical. In use, the audio devices are assigned a right or left position associated with the respective ear of the user in which they are to be disposed. Control surfaces are similarly assigned to provide particular control functionalities on a particular side of the user. Master and slave designations are provided and may be swapped based on a battery status of the respective audio devices. Battery usage and the duration of available use of the pair of audio devices may thus be maximized.

  • Publication number: 20220021962
Abstract: An in-ear wireless audio monitor system with integrated interface for controlling devices includes an in-ear monitor device in communication with a communication module. The in-ear monitor device provides audio, tactile, and other information to a wearer, and transmits information from sensors located in or on the device to the communication module which effectuates control of external devices over a two-way MIDI link. Thus, a performer using the device may command control of an external lighting, audio, or other device by using head gestures, or other movements or sounds such as using their teeth or tongues.

  • Patent number: 10716399
Abstract: A drawer organizer that is easily customizable and that is configured for simple packaging as a kit. The drawer organizer includes a base and a plurality of partitions formed from a flexible material having a grid or waffle configuration that provides a plurality of grid spaces therein and a plurality of tabs along portions of the perimeters of the base and partitions. Connector assemblies are provided to retain the partitions at junctions therebetween. The connector assemblies include an inside corner piece and a pair of locking plates. The corner piece engages grid spaces in the intersecting partitions. The locking plates engage the corner pieces to capture the partitions therebetween. The drawer organizer can be provided as a kit in a rolled up tubular form in which all components thereof are rolled together.

  • Patent number: 10575082
Abstract: An audio device for insertion into an ear canal of a user that includes an adjustable ear tip. The ear tip is formed by a sleeve disposed on a body of the audio device with a first end of the sleeve coupled to an output end of the body. An opposite second end of the sleeve is coupled to a collar that encircles and threadably engages the body. In a retracted state, the sleeve lies alongside an exterior surface of the body. Rotation of the collar relative to the body moves the collar axially along the body and flexes the sleeve radially outward away from the body. An extent of rotation of the collar is selectable to provide a radial dimension of the sleeve and thus the ear tip that provides a suitable fit of the audio device with a user's ear canal.

  • Patent number: 10425716
Abstract: A user interface device useable with a wireless audio or audio/video device. The user interface device includes a layered configuration that includes a layer of sensors separated from an input plate by a compressible layer. Touch inputs from a user cause the input plate to be tilted or moved toward the sensors and to compress the compressible layer. The sensors are configured in an array such that variations in the tilt of the input plate and/or a distance between the input plate and the sensor is recognizable and useable to instruct operation of an associated device that is to be controlled via the touch inputs.

  • Patent number: 10244298
Abstract: A wireless audio device including a cover that is wearable as a personal article or as part of a personal article. The audio device is disposable in the pinna of a user's ear for receiving an audible output therefrom and is often used in pairs, e.g. one in each ear. The audio device includes a wireless communications unit and a sound-production unit disposed in a housing. The cover is adapted to be worn on the user's body as an accessory or as a part of a wearable personal article, such as jewelry, a watch, a belt, a belt buckle, clothing, a hat, or the like. The cover at least partially encloses a portion of the housing and may provide charging of the audio device.

  • Patent number: 9942645
Abstract: An audio device worn in a piercing in an ear of a user. The audio device extends through the piercing and includes a wireless communications unit disposed at a first end and a sound-production unit coupled to an opposite second end thereof. The signal path from a master device to the sound-production unit for producing audio outputs thus passes through the pinna of the ear. The sound-production unit may include an ornamental cover such that the device can be worn as jewelry. The speaker and the wireless communications unit may be removable from a body of the device to enable the body to be worn alone as jewelry and to allow replacement of the wireless communications unit with a wired connection. The device may include a control surface useable to provide inputs to the master device coupled to the device.

  • Patent number: 9653934
Abstract: A mobile device case with extendable finger grips. The mobile device case couples to a mobile device and includes a pair of pivotable grip wings disposed on a back portion thereof. The grip wings pivot from a stored position that is generally parallel to the back surface of the case to an extended position that is generally perpendicular to the back surface. The grip wings each include a generally rigid frame with a more pliable, cushioned insert disposed therein. The insert provides a plurality of finger slots in which a user's fingers can be disposed to aid holding the mobile device while interacting with an input surface, e.g. a touch screen, using the thumbs. The grip wings can also be extended to support the mobile device in a propped up position on a surface for hands-free viewing.
