To achieve cost-effective manufacturing of the main element, the main element is assembled from at least two modules that are axially adjacent, rigidly connected to one another, and produced from SMC material, each module having a yoke part, closed in on itself, of the magnetic yoke having an equal number of divisions of poles attached thereto in one piece, which corresponds to a fraction of the number of poles determined by the number of modules.

    Abstract: A stator (1) for an electrical induction machine comprises at least two stator sections (2, 3) at two different axial positions, each section having a plurality of circumferentially separated, radially extending teeth (6, 7) and each tooth having a single winding. The stator sections are mutually phase-shifted so as to reduce the effect of other harmonics than the working harmonics. In a stator having two separated stator sections, these are physically phase-shifted by 180° electrical±an angle related to skew, and then have their electrical supplies also shifted by 180° electrical.

The stator core is a one-piece molded part that is formed of iron powder having a particle size in a range of about 10 to 250 microns. The powder is bound together by a thermoplastic material which covers the particles and which serves to insulate the particles from each other. The particles may be coated with phosphorus and the phosphorus layer overcoated with the thermoplastic material. A three-phase output stator winding is carried by the core and has conductor portions located in core slots.

    Abstract: A stator core for an electrical machine includes an annular yoke and a plurality of teeth spaced circumferentially on the annular yoke and extending radially therefrom, the spaces between the teeth defining circumferentially spaced winding slots. The teeth are formed as separate components from a soft magnetic powder material. Each tooth has non-decreasing cross-sectional dimensions in a direction towards a distal tip along a length of the tooth corresponding to a winding slot, and has the same or smaller cross-sectional dimensions along a proximal end of the tooth. Thereby, the tooth may be assembled with a core-back section of the annular yoke and is able to receive a coil before the assembling with the yoke.

    Abstract: A stator assembly for an electrical machine comprises a core made of a magnetic material. The core has an annular yoke (2) and a plurality of teeth (3) spaced circumferentially on the annular yoke and extending radially therefrom. The spaces between the teeth define circumferentially spaced winding slots (6). A stator winding is carried by the stator core and has coil turns located around the teeth and in the winding slots. Each tooth and a radially adjoining part (4) of the yoke have varying axial dimensions in order to adjust the magnetic flux to an optimal flux density in each part of the magnetic flux path in the stator. The annular yoke (2) may extend axially past the teeth (3) at least at one of the axial sides thereof.
