  • Patent number: 5639142
Abstract: A sunroof air deflector and adjustable hold-down and latching system. The main body portion of the deflector includes a pair of opposed pockets each including bottom and side wall portions. The bottom wall includes portions defining an elongated transverse slot, a fastener received in the slot and a hold-down hook having an upper portion adjustably secured to the fastener. The pockets include removable covers having cover retainers received in the pocket walls, and the outer margins of the covers overlie the pocket-forming areas. In one form, the retainers are received in slots extending outwardly as narrower continuations of the fastener receiving slots.

  • Patent number: 5251953
Abstract: An air flow control device for attachment to a window frame of a vehicle door. The device includes a flow deflector element mounting clips and fasteners securing the clips to the deflector element. The deflector element has an upper margin adapted to contact the outer surface of the window frame and the clip element lies between a part of the window frame and a dual channel insert, one channel of which receives a window frame-forming seam and the other of which receives the window glass. The clips lie between the insert and the window frame and bias the upper margin of the deflector into or toward contact with the window frame such that the clip itself does not contact the outer window frame surface.

  • Patent number: 4952006
Abstract: A shield assembly for attachment to the hood of the road vehicle wherein the shield assembly includes a one-piece deflector unit with a principal section adapted to protect the exterior surface of the vehicle hood and a rearwardly extending mounting section, a plurality of mounting brackets, each including hood attachment and shield attachment sections, with the mounting brackets being secured to the shield by frangible fasteners having an ultimate yield strength such that forces tending to separate the deflector unit from the brackets will cause the fasteners to break before the elastic limits of the deflectors unit are reached or exceeded.
