Patent number: 9890769Abstract: A system for generating energy from a confined space that includes heated air therein. The system includes a turbine operatively associated with at least one generator of electricity; and a funnel having an inner channel that is open and unobstructed from a larger bottom opening to a smaller top opening which is in air flow communication with the turbine. The inner channel is configured for accelerating heated air rising through the channel prior to exiting the top opening and entering the turbine. No additional energy is needed, such as the use of a fan or propeller, for this acceleration. The accelerated heated air more effectively drives the turbine without requiring additional energy to provide increased amounts of generated electricity and to do so more efficiently compared to turbine systems that do not contain a funnel and fan or propeller.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2015Date of Patent: February 13, 2018Inventor: Barry Albert

Publication number: 20140338231Abstract: A snow shovel blade is provided. The snow shovel blade is a stamped metal body with a generally planar portion, a curved portion, and two opposed lateral, depending sidewalls. The sidewalls are supporting sidewalls.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2013Publication date: November 20, 2014Applicant: AMES TRUE TEMPER, INC.Inventors: Chun Wai Hung, Barry Albert

Patent number: 8851486Abstract: A utility cart frame assembly is provided. The frame assembly includes a handle assembly cross brace member and a wheel assembly with an axle. The cross brace member and the axle are coupled to, and are immediately adjacent, the tray. In this configuration, the handle assembly cross brace member and the axle provide support to the tray.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2012Date of Patent: October 7, 2014Assignee: The Ames Companies, Inc.Inventors: Barry Albert, Joshua O. Mullen

Publication number: 20080054658Abstract: This invention provides a post hole digger having a first, traverse pivot point, located on the lower section of two handle members, and a second, blade assembly pivot point located at the medial point of the blade assemblies. Because the first pivot point is a traverse pivot point, the handle members are only required to travel through a limited range of motion. Additionally, the second, blade assembly pivot point is preferably an offset pivot point. Thus, because the second, blade assembly pivot point is disposed at a medial point of the blade assemblies, the motion of the handle members, which are coupled to the upper ends of the blade assemblies, is reversed relative to the lower ends of the blade members.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2007Publication date: March 6, 2008Applicant: Ames True Temper, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey Norton, Barry Albert

Publication number: 20070007738Abstract: The present invention provides a wheelbarrow having a collapsible frame assembly. The wheelbarrow also includes a hopper and a wheel. The frame assembly includes a wheel brace assembly, a first adjustable leg assembly, a second adjustable leg assembly, a first handle member and a second handle member. The wheel brace assembly is narrow relative to the hopper. The first adjustable leg assembly and the second adjustable leg assembly are pivotally coupled to the wheel brace assembly. The first and second leg assemblies are each structured to move between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the first and second leg assemblies are structured to be closer to the centerline of the wheelbarrow, and/or frame assembly, so that the width of the legs/brace sub-assembly is relatively narrow.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2006Publication date: January 11, 2007Applicant: Ames True Temper, Inc.Inventor: Barry Albert

Publication number: 20050258007Abstract: A wheelbarrow includes three wheels so that it may be pushed without being lifted, thereby minimizing the potential for operator injuries due to lifting the wheelbarrow. A braking mechanism including a lever having one end for engaging a user's hand or foot, and another end for engaging a sprocket secured to one of the wheels, may be used to resist movement of the wheelbarrow when such movement is not desired.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2005Publication date: November 24, 2005Applicant: Ames True Temper, Inc.Inventor: Barry Albert

Publication number: 20050087958Abstract: An improved wheelbarrow includes a pair of legs that are each configured as four-bar linkages and are collapsible. Each of the legs includes an advantageously simple lock for releasably locking the leg in extended and retracted positions. The wheelbarrow includes a frame assembly, a wheel, a tray, and a pair of handles. The frame assembly can be assembled by the manufacturer, and the wheelbarrow can then be provided as a kit in accordance with the present invention that can be assembled by the retailer or the consumer by simply attaching the wheel, the tray, and the handles to the frame assembly. A support block is disclosed which facilitates assembly and strengthens the legs.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 15, 2004Publication date: April 28, 2005Applicant: Ames True Temper, Inc.Inventors: Michael Tomchak, Barry Albert, Mike Lupey
