  • Patent number: 11951322
Abstract: Accessories of a medical device, such as a defibrillator, are described. The accessories reduce delays in treating or monitoring a patient by increasing the efficiency of using, and the ease of use of, the medical device. An adjustable kickstand is movable between a collapsed and extended position to recline the medical device. In the reclined position, a display of the medical device can be more easily viewed by the user. Storage bags can be coupled to the medical device to efficiently store accessories for use with the medical device. The stored accessories can be coupled to the medical device while the accessories are stored within the storage bags. A port guard can protect and shield a connection between a cable and a port of the medical device to prevent the cable (e.g., an ECG cable) from being disconnected from the port of the medical device.

  • Patent number: 11931220
Abstract: Wax-based compositions for making barrier layers used in oral treatment devices are thermally stable when formed into a flat sheet or three-dimensional article to a temperature of at least 45° C. and are plastically deformable at room temperature (25° C.). The wax-based compositions include a wax fraction homogeneously blended with a polymer fraction. The wax fraction includes at least one wax and the polymer fraction includes at least one polymer selected such that, when the at least one wax and at least one polymer are homogeneously blended together, they yield a wax-based composition having the desired properties of thermal stability and plastic deformability. Barrier layers and oral treatment devices made from such wax-based compositions are dimensionally stable to a temperature of at least 40° C. without external support and can be plastically deformed in a user's mouth to become at least partially customized to the size and shape of user's unique dentition.

  • Patent number: 9737968
Abstract: A method of detecting machine tool vibration is provided. The method includes receiving, from a sensor arranged in a machine tool, motion data measured along an axis. The method also includes comparing the motion data against a first threshold. The method also includes adjusting a counter if the motion data has a magnitude greater than the first threshold. The method also includes generating an alarm if the counter is greater than a second threshold.

  • Patent number: 8299742
Abstract: A method for decelerating a motor in a computer numerical controlled machine tool is provided. The method includes calculating a present rate of deceleration DP, for a motor of a motor drive system, based on a present speed SP of the motor, a reference speed SR of the motor, and a reference rate of deceleration DR of the motor. The method also includes decelerating the motor from SP according to DP. The motor drive system comprises a maximum power rating that defines a maximum power, generated by the motor while decelerating, that can be dissipated without overloading the motor drive system. DR is a rate of deceleration such that power, generated by the motor while decelerating from SR according to DR, is equal to the maximum power rating. Power, generated while decelerating the motor from SP according to DP, is equal to or less than the maximum power rating.

  • Publication number: 20080243299
Abstract: A machine tool controller is provided that includes a processor configured to execute a sequence of instructions in accordance with an operating program and a user program. A volatile memory temporarily stores instructions and data during execution of the sequence of instructions by the processor, and is coupled to the processor via a first interface. A first non-volatile memory stores the operating program and is coupled to the processor via a second interface. A second non-volatile memory stores the user program and is coupled to the processor via a third interface. A video controller is configured to control a user display in accordance with display data generated by the processor and is coupled to the processor via a fourth interface. A dual-port memory is coupled to the processor via a fifth interface and couples a serial bus controller configured to control communications with an external device via a serial bus to the processor.

  • Patent number: 6075968
Abstract: A system for educating learning disabled students includes a work station accessible by students and teachers for converting information between paper-written and computer character-recognized formats, whereby a teacher or a student can convert paper-written information such as assignments into a computer character-recognized format. The system further includes a plurality of student setups, each of which permit the exchange of computer character-recognized information with the work station. Each student setup presents computer character-recognized information to a student both audibly and visually in a synchronized manner to permit the student to acquire knowledge, understand assignments and produce work products in a computer character-recognized format that can be converted to a paper-written format at the work station for submission to the teacher. A student support network provides the student with supplemental information and guidance as needed to obtain a quality education.
