Abstract: A ratchet device 1 for a strap has a body 105 having a side member 109, and a spool 119 having a side 119a rotatably supported by the side member and a ratchet wheel 121 fixed thereto. The body has a member 161 moveable between an open position in which the other side 119b of the spool is exposed to enable a strap to be laterally loaded into the spool 119 from the exposed side of the spool and laterally unloaded from the spool, and a closed position in which said lateral loading and unloading are prevented.

Abstract: A load anchor has a support 103 with an upper surface. A tongue 105 with an aperture 113 for receipt of a tie down strap is pivotable relative to the support 103 from a first position wherein the tongue 105 is substantially flush with the upper surface of the support 103 to a second position extending above the support so that the aperture 113 is exposed. The load anchor may have a lever arrangement 111 accessible through the aperture 113 in the tongue when the tongue is in the first position, so that downward force applied to part of the lever arrangement 111 through the aperture 113 pivots the lever arrangement 111 which lifts the tongue 105 from the first position. The tongue 105 may be pivotally connected relative to the support member 103 by an integrally formed shaft or shafts 107.

Abstract: A truck includes a chassis 1 supporting a cab 3 and a deck 9 which is supported at least by a rearmost axle 15 and wheels 17. The deck 9 is tiltable relative to the chassis 1 about a pivot axis 27 located in front of the rearmost axle 15 of the truck and arranged such that as the deck 9 tilts rearwardly, the chassis 1 tilts forwardly and the deck 9 lowers towards the rearmost axle. A forward part of a rear suspension arrangement may be operatively connected to the chassis 1 so that the forward part moves upwardly towards the deck 9 as the deck 9 is tilted.
