Abstract: An automated slide imaging system includes an imager for acquiring images of a specimen slide mounted on a slide stage movable relative to the imager; and an image processing system configured to process the acquired images and identify objects of interest on the slide. The image processing system is configured to identify one or more types of errors associated with each slide, which may relate to the respective specimen and/or to the preparation and/or imaging of the slide. The system comprises at least one marker in operative association with the image processing system for applying one or more human-readable marks to slides having one or more associated errors, or to slides having no errors, or both.

Abstract: Method and system for imaging and analyzing a biological specimen on a specimen carrier, such as a slide. One or more imagers acquire images of a biological specimen on a slide and generate electronic image data. One or more analysis computers, such as a cluster of analysis computers, are connected to the imagers through a network and process the electronic image data. The number of analysis computers can be different than the number of imagers, and analysis computers can be located remotely from the imagers. The results of processing by the analysis computers are stored to a database, which is accessible by one or more review stations.

Abstract: The present invention provides various pharmaceutically active topical delivery compositions. In particular, compositions of the present invention are present in a pressurized contained comprising a quick-breaking alcoholic foaming agent, such that when the composition is released, i.e., dispensed, from the pressurized container, a quick-breaking temperature sensitive foam is formed. In addition, the present invention provides various aspects related to such compositions, including methods for modulating a foam characteristic, methods for improving the shelf-life of a pharmaceutically active compound, methods for the percutaneous treatment of various diseases, infections, and illnesses, and methods for evaluating foam characteristics.

Abstract: A fractional-N offset phase locked loop (FN-OPLL) is provided. The FN-OPLL includes a fractional divider, a phase detector, a loop filter, a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), and feedback circuitry. Combiner circuitry combines an initial fractional divide value and a modulation signal to provide a combined fractional divide value. Based on the combined fractional divide value, the fractional-N divider divides a reference frequency and provides a divided reference frequency to the phase detector. The phase detector compares a phase of the divided reference frequency to a phase of a feedback signal to provide a comparison signal. The comparison signal is filtered by the loop filter to provide a control signal to the VCO, where the control signal controls a frequency of an output signal of the VCO. The output signal is processed by the feedback circuitry to provide the feedback signal to the phase detector.
