    Abstract: The present process relates to the production of crystalline 2,2-bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl] propane by cooling the molten material with shear. An especially useful aspect of this invention involves the continuous crystallization of 2,2-bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl] propane employing a scraped surface heat exchanger to achieve the desired rate of cooling and shear.
