  • Patent number: 6388016
Abstract: A method for the dynamic vulcanization of polymer blends made by solution polymerization in series reactors. The polymer blends are mixed under conditions of heat and shear, and a curing agent is added to at least partially cross-link one of the blend components.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2000
Date of Patent: May 14, 2002
    Assignee: Advanced Elastomer Systems, L.P.
Inventors: Sabet Abdou-Sabet, Barry M. Rosenbaum
  • Patent number: 6297301
Abstract: Thermoplastic elastomers having improved processability are prepared by incorporating one or more organic sulfate or sulfonate salts into blends of thermoplastic polymers and olefinic rubber and melt processing the mixture. The rubber component of the mixture is preferably at least partially cured.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 1997

  • Publication number: 20010003625
Abstract: A heat weldable roofing membrane including a substrate sheet formed of ethylene-propylene diene monomer and a top film layer laminated to at least one surface of the substrate sheet and selected from TPE and TPO.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 6111007
Abstract: A process is described for preparing a functionalized EPM or EPDM artificial latex from the EPM or EPDM polymerization reactor without isolating the polymer. The process includes i) post polymerization functionalizing of an EPM or EPDM copolymer, ii) dispersing the functionalized copolymer in water with an appropriate surfactant and iii) removing the solvents. The resulting latex is useful in paper coatings, latex coatings, adhesives, and in impact modifiers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 1998
Date of Patent: August 29, 2000
    Assignee: OMNOVA Solutions Inc.
Inventors: Barry M. Rosenbaum, Edward N. Kresge, Russell A. Livigni
  • Patent number: 3969091
Abstract: A desiccant regeneration system is disclosed which employs polymerization diluent as regeneration medium for monomer recycle desiccant driers in ethylene-alpha olefin copolymerizations and utilizes existing diluent purification systems (i.e., systems employed in polymerization processes for diluent recycle), thereby avoiding separate regeneration facilities, providing high purity regeneration fluid and allowing regeneration at relatively mild temperatures.
