  • Patent number: 9421736
Abstract: A hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) composition includes (i) a solvent phase comprising a first acrylic PSA dissolved in an organic solvent, an alcohol, and optionally water; and (ii) an emulsion phase comprising a second, emulsified acrylic PSA. In another aspect, a metalized film laminate includes a metalized film layer, a hybrid PSA layer, and an ink-containing polymeric film layer. The two-phase hybrid PSA system effectively addresses both metal tear and ink pick problems associated with conventional metalized film laminates.

  • Publication number: 20160132820
Abstract: A scheduling apparatus comprises a server computer and a first set of instructions executable on the server computer configured to receive availability and unavailability data from one or more users. The first set of instructions are further executable to present a display to each of the one or more users of a calendar displaying a shift schedule for each of said users. The first set of instructions are further configured to receive a request from a first of the one or more users, and transmit to a second of the one or more users, a request to cover a shift from said shift schedule of said first user. The first set of instructions are further configured to receive a confirmation message from the second user to transmit to the first user reflecting that the second user will cover the first user's shift. The first set of instructions are further configured to change the display of the calendar of the first user to reflect that the second user will cover the first user's shift.

  • Publication number: 20110038569
Abstract: An easy-open resealable package is formed from a flexible laminate that includes an inner structure adhesively laminated to an outer structure. An opening feature is formed in the laminate and is operable for forming an opening into the package. A region of pressure-sensitive adhesive is disposed between the inner and outer structures proximate the opening feature. One or more lines of weakness in the outer structure form at least one peel strip as an integral portion of the outer structure. The at least one peel strip is positioned such that peeling off the at least one peel strip exposes the pressure-sensitive adhesive, which remains on the inner structure. After opening the package by operating the opening feature, and the user can reclose the package by folding down an end portion of the package and adhering the end portion to the pressure-sensitive adhesive so as to substantially close the opening.

  • Publication number: 20050276525
Abstract: A flexible packaging laminate is formed to have a built-in opening and reclose feature by forming the laminate as a two-part structure having an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation with an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting an opening portion (e.g., a flap or the like) of the two structures out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate.

  • Publication number: 20050100753
Abstract: An easy tear packaging film, a method of producing the film and a grocery bag formed from the film are described. The film is formed from a coextruded mono-web having a linear low density polyethylene heat sealant layer, a high density polyethylene barrier layer and a polypropylene print layer. The mono-web is uniaxially oriented in the transverse direction to provide linear tear characteristics. Ink is printed on the print layer. A clear energy cured coating is disposed on the print layer over the ink to provide high gloss, scuff resistance and heat resistance. The film exhibits the linear tear characteristics of the mono-web because the energy cured coating has a negligible affect on the tear properties of the film.
