  • Patent number: 6385797
Abstract: An upper front annular frame and a lower annular frame have pivotally connected front portions, and a seat overlies the frames and has a rear portion pivotally connected to a rear portion of the upper frame. A pair of scissor linkages are connected to corresponding opposite side portions of the frames and have forwardly projecting arms supporting rollers engaging a bottom surface of the seat. A motor driven screw jack is supported by a bracket mounted on one side portion of the lower frame and is connected to tilt the upper frame between a horizontal position adjacent the lower frame and an elevated inclined position while the scissor linkages automatically move the seat between a horizontal position and an inclined elevated position projecting forwardly of the frames.

  • Patent number: 6119287
Abstract: A disabled person transfer unit includes a base supporting a motor actuated rotatable platform, and a frame is mounted on the platform for pivotally supporting a pair of motor actuated lift arms which carry forearm support pads and hand grips and/or a removable seat sling. The arms pivot to pick up a person either seated or lying down, and the person may stand on the platform. The platform is rotated to transfer the person after which the arms lower the person to a new position. The base of the unit has retractable caster wheels for moving the unit and removable legs with outboard caster wheels for moving a person across the floor. A motor control box is movable to a position adjacent either of the hand grips.

  • Patent number: 5561872
Abstract: A frame of square tubular metal includes a U-shaped base and a pair of parallel spaced support members projecting upwardly from the base at an inclined angle for supporting a pair of telescopic arms. A seat extends between the arms and is supported by a pair of brackets adjustably clamped to the arms. Each arm is connected to a corresponding reversible motor driven screw jack which extends vertically under the arm to the base, and the motors are electrically connected for simultaneous operation to move the arms and seat member between an upper elevated position and a lower retracted position. The seat may be removed by lifting the seat from the brackets which also support the seat for automatic tilting. The seat may be a toilet seat with side wings or may be a seat connected to a back support panel.
