Abstract: The present invention provides expression vectors comprising polynucleotides encoding chimeric sucrose isomerases, and methods of using the same. In addition, transgenic plants expressing said chimeric sucrose isomerases are provided. Furthermore, methods of increasing average seed weight, seed number and/or seed size of a plant by using said chimeric sucrose isomerases are provided.

Abstract: A detailed three-dimensional structure for the C-terminal C2 domain of blood coagulation factor VIII is disclosed. The novel truncated factor VIII constructs which were designed so as to omit a significant portion of the flexible full length protein are also part of the present invention. In addition, the crystals of the protein, both in the presence and absence of bound ligands are also included. Furthermore, methods of identifying antagonists of the human factor VIII protein which can be used to inhibit coagulation or to stabilize and activate factor VIII mutants are also disclosed. Furthermore, methods of identifying variations of the C2 domain sequence and structure that can be incorporated into intact factor VIII for the purpose Of administration to hemophiliac patients who are immunoreactive against wild type factor VIII are disclosed.

Abstract: A mousetrap comprising a base with a first end and a second end located opposite to the first end. A spring is mounted to the base, and is capable of being biased for movement toward the first end of the base. A collar extends from the spring, such that when the mousetrap is loaded by moving the collar to the second end of the base. A pin having a fixed end and a free end is mounted to the base, wherein the fixed end of the base is mounted to the base proximate to the second end of the base. A cage is mounted to the base proximate to the first end of said base. The cage is capable of retaining the bait. A catch is mounted to the cage and is capable of retaining the free end of the pin when the mousetrap is loaded, and wherein the mousetrap is triggered by the release of the free end of the pin from the catch.
