The second transceiver (202) consumes less power than the first transceiver (201). In order to further optimize the energy efficiency of the proximity awareness device (101; 200), the first transceiver (201) is controlled to operate according to a first duty cycle (321, 322; 421, 422), and the second transceiver (202) is controlled to operate according to a second duty cycle (323, 324; 423, 424).
