  • Publication number: 20240338011
Abstract: An IoT gateway at a client site uses sensing functions and actuating functions to safely implement actions for equipment. The client provides, to the IoT service, specifications for a sensing function and one or more actuating functions that are to communicate with the sensing function. The functions are deployed to the IoT gateway at the client site. The sensing function may be assigned read only access to the equipment and the actuating function may be assigned write only access to the equipment. The sensing function may collect data from the equipment and determine that a condition has been met (e.g., temperature is above an upper limit). In response, the sensing function provides an indication of an action to the actuating function (e.g., via a unique topic). If the action is a supported action, then the actuating function causes the equipment to perform the action; otherwise, it ignores the indicated action.

  • Patent number: 12050922
Abstract: An edge data pipeline service may build and deploy an edge data pipeline application to an edge device, based on specification provided by a user. The service may receive, from the client, indications for any number of data sources (e.g., cameras, sensors), data sinks (e.g., video files, databases), and application modules (e.g., motiondetect, anomalydetect) to be used by an edge data pipeline application at an edge device. The client may indicate a mapping that maps data sources to data sinks and one or more criteria that, when satisfied, cause an application module to send data from one or more data sources to one or more data sinks according to the mapping. The service builds a package and deploys the package to the edge device, which implements the data pipeline application to route data from sources to sinks.

  • Patent number: 11353855
Abstract: An OT-IT (operational technology-information technology) service of a provider network allows operators to configure gateway connectors for data sources (e.g., machines at an industrial site) and allows developers to specify workflows that consume data from the data sources. To do so, the OT-IT service provides an operator interface to receive topology data for the client's remote network. The OT-IT service configures connectors for data sources based on the topology data and deploys the connectors to gateway devices. The OT-IT service also provides a developer interface to present available data sources and to receive specifications for workflows that consume data from the data sources. The OT-IT service deploys the workflows to execution locations. The OT-IT service then configures the gateways to send tagged data from the connectors to the workflows for processing.
