Abstract: A self-watering system for potted plants includes a saucer with a deep water reservoir, raised support structures to elevate the plant container, and one or more wicking devices that draw water from the reservoir into the container. The design prevents overflow by containing excess water and positioning the plant container such that roots are not constantly submerged. The wicking devices, which may include slow-release fertilizers, are easily inserted through the container's drainage holes. An optional set of adjustable hooks allows adaptation for hanging baskets. This invention converts virtually any standard pot into a self-watering container, reducing watering frequency and preventing damage to underlying surfaces.
