  • Publication number: 20080062183
Abstract: The use of data structures for displaying images is described: A first minimal data structure. In this structure only that information needed to show the data in the form of a 3D image, either wire mesh or rendered, to the user, is loaded into memory, e.g. the RAM memory. No additional information about the data structure is generated. For example, no connectivity data is loaded into memory. Typically this memory state is used for “read-only” purposes. In other words, the data objects are not to be modified. A second Rich (Flexible) data structure. In this structure, information, which a typical application holds to perform operations on the data, will be kept in memory, e.g. a RAM memory. Optional examples of extra information needed are, connectivity data such as neighbor information, some data flags for polygons, e.g. triangles and vertices, references to next and previous vertices and polygons, e.g. triangles, etc.

  • Publication number: 20060093988
Abstract: Method for placing and manufacturing a dental superstructure, whereby a computer planning is made of the position of the implants (7), and whereby one or several accessories are made on the basis of said computer planning by means of which the implants (7) can be provided, and whereby on these implants (7), after they have been provided, is fitted the superstructure (33), characterized in that also the superstructure (33) is made, either directly or indirectly, on the basis of a computer planning.

  • Patent number: 5768134
Abstract: A method is set fourth for making a perfected medical model on the basis of digital image information of a part of the body. According to which this image information of a part of the body is converted, by means of what is called the rapid prototyping technique and thus with a processing unit (4) and a rapid prototyping machine (5), into a basic model (9) of which at least a part perfectly shows the positive or negative form of at least a portion of the part of the body. At least an artificial functional element (10) with a useful function is added to the basic model (6) as a function of the digital information and possibly as a function of additional external information.

  • Patent number: 5595703
Abstract: A method of supporting an object made by stereolithography or another rapid prototype production method, in which a support is provided with at least one supporting structure which is airier than a supporting structure made of solid standing walls, including those made with notches at the top and/or at the bottom. The supporting structure can be made airy by using walls of which at least a number are provided with openings over a major part of their surface.
