    Abstract: A battery-powered power unit is provided in which a state of charge parameter is used to determine whether to shut off the battery-powered power unit, and an adjustment parameter is used to determine when to shut off the battery-powered power unit closer to a predetermined state of charge value for the battery. The state of charge parameter may be voltage across the battery, and the adjustment parameter may be current leaving the battery-powered power unit. The parameters may be values that are internal to the battery-powered power unit. The battery-powered power unit can be used in, for example, tractor auxiliary power units.
