  • Publication number: 20230155500
Abstract: Examples of the disclosure relate to example devices and methods for delivering electrical power. An example electrical power delivery device includes a boost converter circuitry configured to convert a voltage received at an input to a higher voltage at an output. The electrical power delivery device also includes a driver to control the boost converter circuitry by providing a switching signal to the boost converter circuitry at a specified duty cycle and switching frequency. The output voltage of the boost converter circuitry is controlled by adjusting the duty cycle. The electrical power delivery device also includes a current sensor to detect a current at the output of the boost converter circuitry, and a frequency controller to adjust the switching frequency provided by the driver based on the current detected by the current sensor.

  • Publication number: 20120005033
Abstract: An web-based anonymous mutual-interest-based social introduction system allows registered users to anonymously express interest in a friends or acquaintances by specifying the e-mail address and/or mobile phone number of each person of interest. Interest is recorded in a database and if a person in whom interest was expressed independently expresses a mutual interest, both parties are notified. In a preferred embodiment, users expressing interest may choose to have enticing clues sent to the person of interest to encourage him or her to register with the system and anonymously express interest in friends and/or acquaintances. Unlike typical dating websites, the present invention is meant to facilitate dating between persons who have met but not yet disclosed attraction to one another.

  • Patent number: 4966179
Abstract: An umbrella includes a hollow tubular handle, a hub slidably contained in the handle between an upper extended position and a lower stored position; a spider hinge mounted on the hub and including radially extending spider arms; a plurality of flexible struts, each having a fixed end and a free end, with each strut having a width which tapers from the fixed end to the fre end and with the fixed end being secured on each spider arm; a retainer bushing and plug which fixedly secures the spider hinge onto the hub; each strut further having a block thereon with an outwardly radially extending opening; a cord extending peripherally about the umbrella and connected within the openings of the blocks and thereby to the struts for applying a pre-loading tensioning force to the struts so as to bend the struts into a bowed configuration; and a one-piece web of flexible, water-resistant material connected to the ends of the tensioned struts.
