Abstract: An electrical distribution system that in one embodiment includes a structural or trim member having a slot, the slot including at least two continuous electrical conductors, each having an exposed electrical contact surface and separated from one another by a dielectric material. The electrical distribution system may also include a plug-in outlet receptacle including at least one set of receiving apertures, for receiving an electrical plug and at least two electrical contactors electrically connected to respective apertures for providing electrical power to a device plugged into the outlet receptacle, wherein the contactors are configured for receipt into the slot, and further configured so that when plugged therein one of the contactors makes electrical contact with one of the continuous conductors, and the other contactor makes electrical contact with the other continuous conductor.

Abstract: A composite sandwich structure with embedded electronics, that in one embodiment includes two multilayered composite facesheet laminates, a central core, embedded electronic components within the central core region, embedded electrical conductors within the central core region, and two multilayer printed circuit laminates that are secondarily bonded or cured to the inner surface of the sandwich facesheet laminates. The electronic components and electrical conductors, which are located in the central core region of the sandwich element, are attached to one or both of the two circuit laminates.

Abstract: A multifunctional seal that in one embodiment includes on each contact surface multiple redundant seals, sensors and sensor circuitry between each seal, and a power source and embedded electronic components and circuitry within the central core region. The seal is constructed to detect fluid leak progression using redundant sealing and sensors located between each set of seals to allow for the detection of leak propagation prior to leakage outside the sealed containment or transfer structure.
