  • Patent number: 8584829
Abstract: A method of safe transfer of filter segments to a grouping belt in a process of producing multi-segment filters. The method includes transferring the filter segments using a filter segments' flow track, wherein the filter segments' flow track includes, consecutively, a zone of delivery of prepared segments, a zone of separation of delivered segments by a separating unit, a zone of intercepting of separated segments by a transferring unit, a zone of transferring segments by the transferring unit, and a zone of placing the segments by the transferring unit on a horizontal path of the grouping belt; detecting incorrect flow of filter segments in any zone and/or between the zones; and moving the transferring unit and/or the separating unit out of the filter segments' flow track if an incorrect flow of filter segments is detected, and interrupting the process of producing multi-segment filters.

  • Patent number: 8353810
Abstract: A method of making segmented filters including moving substantially identical segments of one type at uniform rate to a transferring element, which places each segment separately on an exit path. Setting of the filter segments in a repeating group on the exit path is accomplished by delay in collecting segments by a transferring element in each module of the apparatus. Uniform positioning is effected using the transferring element which includes uniformly spaced drivers, and non-uniform positioning is effected using the transferring element with non-uniformly spaced drivers. The apparatus includes a guiding element positioned adjacent to a cutting drum and has a wall closing a channel for a set of segments drawn out of a flute on the drum. The filter set is led through the channel with the aid of a dog of a chain and is advanced by a worm surface of a pushing together drum.

  • Publication number: 20120321428
Abstract: The method of control consists in altering the flow path by means of swing and/or slide shiftable movable elements (5 and 10), constituting a fragment of the opposite side walls (2 and 3) of an angularly positioned channel (1), which after shifting stop the flow or direct it to another receiving device or simultaneously to multiple receiving devices, with the possibility of restoring the flow after shifting the movable elements (5 and 10) to previous position. The device is situated in the channel (1), the first side wall (2) of which is provided with a first movable element (5), and a fragment of the opposite second side wall (3) forms a second movable element (10), with the first movable element (5) being mounted on a pivot (6) together with a perpendicular plate (7), on which also the second movable element (10) by means of an actuator (9) is mounted. The second element (10) may have the shape of a cylinder sector or a triangular prism or take the shape of a rotating plate.

  • Publication number: 20120073935
Abstract: In the manufacture of segment filters, appropriately prepared segments (1) are transferred through a delivery zone (2) to a separation zone (4) equipped with a separating unit (5), and then transferred between the drivers (8) of a rotating disk (9) mounted on axis (10), which constitutes a transferring unit (11), and intercepted by the said unit (11.) in an interception zone (T), they are transferred individually through a transfer zone (12) to a placement zone (14), where they are positioned on the horizontal track of the grouping belt (13), and in the case of incorrect flow of filter segments (1) in any zone (2, 4, 7, 12, 14) and/or between the zones, the process of the transfer of the filter segments in at least one zone is interrupted, which causes the interruption of the filters production process.
