  • Patent number: 11988213
Abstract: A multistage pump for installation on a sea ground includes a common housing, a pump unit arranged in the common housing, a drive unit arranged in the common housing, and a coupling. The common housing includes a pump inlet and a pump outlet, the pump unit including a plurality of impellers to convey a compressible fluid from the pump inlet to the pump outlet, and a pump shaft, on which each impeller is mounted, each impeller being a radial or semi-axial impeller. The drive unit includes a drive shaft to drive the pump shaft, and an electric motor configured to rotate the drive shaft about an axial direction. The coupling couples the drive shaft to the pump shaft. The pump unit conveys the fluid in a dense phase at the pump outlet, and at least two impellers of the plurality of impellers have a different specific speed.

  • Publication number: 20240077089
Abstract: A rotary pressure exchanger includes a housing and a rotor mounted within the housing for rotation about an axis of rotation defining an axial direction. The rotor extends from a first rotor end in the axial direction to a second rotor end, a plurality of channels is inside the rotor for transferring pressure from the first fluid to the second fluid, and each channel extends parallel to the axis of rotation. The plurality of channels includes a set of first channels and a set of second channels, and the rotor includes a divider arranged between the first rotor end and the second rotor end for separating the first channels from the second channels, Each first channel extends from the first rotor end in the axial direction to the divider, and each second channel extends from the second rotor end in the axial direction to the divider.

  • Patent number: 11879483
Abstract: A multiphase pump for conveying a multiphase process fluid includes a pump housing, a stationary diffuser, a rotor and swirl brake. The rotor is arranged in the pump housing and is rotatable about an axial direction, the rotor including a pump shaft and an impeller fixedly mounted on the pump shaft. The stationary diffuser is arranged adjacent to and downstream of the impeller. The impeller includes a blade with the blade having a radially outer tip, and a ring surrounding the impeller and arranged at the radially outer tip of the blade. A passage is between the ring and a stationary part configured to be stationary with respect to the pump housing, the passage extending in the axial direction from an entrance to a discharge. The swirl brake is disposed at the passage, and configured and arranged to brake swirling of the process fluid passing through the passage.

  • Publication number: 20230375009
Abstract: A rotary pressure exchanger includes a housing and a rotor. Channels are inside the rotor to transfer pressure from a first fluid to a second fluid. Each channel extends parallel to the axis of rotation, and the housing includes a first inlet port for supplying the first fluid to the channels, a first outlet port for discharging the first fluid from the channels, a second inlet port for suppling the second fluid to the channels, and a second outlet port for discharging the second fluid from the channels. The first and second inlet ports are radial inlet ports, such that the first fluid and the second fluid enter the rotor in a radial direction perpendicular to the axial direction, and the first outlet port and the second outlet port are radial outlet ports, such that the first fluid and the second fluid leave the rotor in the radial direction.

  • Publication number: 20230193932
Abstract: An energy storage system includes a vessel for storing water, an energy conversion device, and a connection line connecting the vessel with the energy conversion device. The energy conversion device includes first and second housings, a pump turbine in the first housing, and a motor generator in the second housing. The pump turbine includes a first shaft and an impeller mounted on the first shaft. The motor generator includes a second shaft and a rotor at the second shaft for rotating relative to a stator. The second shaft is coupled to the first shaft for transmitting torque between the first and second shafts. The connecting line connects a low pressure opening with an opening for receiving water or discharging water. The second housing is filled with a gas for a barrier pressure during operation of the energy conversion device, such that the rotor rotates within the gas.
