Abstract: The invention relates to methods for the parenteral administration of aspirin, pharmaceutical compositions of aspirin prepared using the methods, and kits that may be used in the method. The method of the invention comprises the steps of: mixing a first vial comprising aspirin and optionally at least one excipient with a second vial comprising an aqueous solution comprising meglumine, sodium citrate, or mixtures thereof, optionally at least one surfactant, tonicity adjusting agent, or mixtures thereof, optionally at least one monosaccharide, disaccharide, sugar alcohol, or mixtures thereof, and optionally at least one non-aqueous co-solvent; to obtain an aqueous aspirin composition; and parenterally administering the aqueous aspirin composition to the subject in need thereof.

Abstract: Liquid nicardipine compositions suitable for parenteral administration having improved stability are disclosed. The compositions are aqueous solutions having a pH of at least about 4.8, include nicardipine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, sodium benzoate, a surfactant, a buffer and optionally a tonicity adjusting agent such as sorbitol. The liquid nicardipine compositions are preferably stored in a pharmaceutically-acceptable bag-type container. An inert gas such as nitrogen can be included therein if desired.

Abstract: Daptomycin-containing formulations having extended stability are disclosed. The formulations are substantially non-aqueous liquid compositions containing daptomycin, cysteine, magnesium chloride, and propylene glycol. In alternative embodiments, the formulations include glycerol and optionally auxiliary solvents such as ethanol.

Abstract: Isotretinoin compositions having improved bioavailability are disclosed. The compositions are oral formulations containing isotretinoin, a lipid excipient and a cosolvent, wherein the ratio of isotretinoin to the lipid excipient is from about 1:1.2 to about 1:1.6. The compositions can be in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable oral dosage form such as a capsule or compressed tablet wherein the isotretinoin is adsorbed onto blended particles of a cellulosic polymer and silicon dioxide in combination with a lipid excipient such as soy phosphatidylcholine and a cosolvent such as propylene glycol. Methods of preparing the compositions and methods of treatment using the compositions are also disclosed.
