    Abstract: A method and system for post-delivery assignment and activation of an electronic gift card is disclosed herein. The present invention is a process wherein card account numbers are only assigned to electronic gift cards when viewed or accessed by the end customer, and thus the present invention limits the requirement of assigning account numbers excessively in bulk and eliminating the waste of unused account numbers and unused plastic.
